I am sure other's can empathize with my frustration.

I have been on Doxycycline for almost 2 months now. Two weeks ago, I felt 2 million times better than I had felt in years.

Even my dr said I looked great and he could see I felt great.

Well...the past three days, I have been feeling how I felt two months ago.

I start Gamma Globulin treatments next week...for the neuropothies caused by the Lyme.

I am trying to remain positive, but feeling so bad again brings back the onslaught of feelings of helplessness and feeling like a waste of space.

I see my endo and LLMD today and my internist tomo. My fear is when I went camping over Labor day weekend, I got reinfected or something.

I had finally gotten the motivation and physical strength to work out again - as I had gained a tremendous amount of weight over the past months from being lethargic.

I guess depression comes with the Lyme. I guess I am just looking for some words of encouragement, as I have been unable to work out the past 4 days and getting out of bed and even walking seems like i'm running a 26k marathon.

Best wishes to everybody!

I think the fact that you had a spell of feeling good is a very good sign. I'm thinking it shows that the antibiotics are working and you are likely in a herx now. Many people don't show such an improvement in such a short period of time....to be able to work out is amazing!

It's frustrating because you can't help but think "oh no, here we go again. Thought I was past this" but you just have some more bugs to kill and you'll be feeling decent again before you know it!!

Every 3-5 wks you will have a more intense herx. It should pass in a few days. Do some detoxing or epsom salt baths to help clear toxins.

You are on your way to recovery! The Lyme roller coaster is a rough one, filled with many ups and downs.

And yes, the depression is very much lyme and fits right in with a monthly herx!

Hi this is Jane, I have had Lyme for over a year now, ifn ot longer. I too have had a day or two of feeling less brain fogged and even did the dishes, for the first time in 9 months. I'm on Doxyclyline for 3 months and Ceftin for 2 months now. I am also getting worse, and never really got better. I feel I need a wheelchair but my husband is fighting we on this. He too does not understand my disability. This disease is a nightmare, and I feel like not living alot of days [Frown]

Depending on your immune system, how long you've had Lyme, and the presence of coinfections, you could be in for a long ordeal! It took me more than two years to nail the Lyme and co-infections; I was one sick pup! You're lucky you found the LymeNet board so quick! Make use of it; its an incredibly good resource.

So get ready for a long fight, but you have to keep fighting every day! It's an exhausting illness to get over. That said, I of course hope you are a statistical outlier and recover within weeks! Best Wishes,
DaveS

I am coming up on my one year of antibiotic treatment mark.

Back on doxy, which I haven't been on since Dec of last year while my LLMD was addressing co-infections.

It really packs a punch the second time around! Ouch!!! [Eek!]

Hang in there.

It's great you had some really good days in there.

Kind of seems like a tease though.

Eventually, there will be more and more good days and less bad.

Just come here for support. We are always here for you.

Hugs,

Geneal
