EDIT- Putting this link up top so you can vote easier!

http://www.sponsafier.com/share/165020

``````````````````````````````````````````````````
I haven't changed out an engine or done much work on cars since getting sick years ago ...
But last night I designed a race car and entered it in a contest!
The winner of the contest gets a bunch of stuff- a week long paid trip to the NASCAR race in NC, hotels, plane tickets, cash, etc.
If we won the contest, I'd donate the prizes to two Lyme patients who are able to travel and enjoy the excitement.
But the best part... the car is designed to educate others about Lyme disease. If chosen as the winner, the race team would put the Lyme design on a real race car that would be seen by millions!
The design is going through the review process and being judged to see if it meets all the preliminary standards. If it passes that hurdle, people can vote on the car they like best.
Millions of people watch the races ... so I am hoping it will bring attention to Lyme disease, especially in the south (North Carolina, etc) where it is desperately needed.
I'll let you know when I hear from the judges!
[Big Grin]
PS. Since I don't Twitter or Face Book... I would need your help to spread the word so folks can vote for our lean green Lyme Machine!
You know what I think??
Probably not,,,but I say what I think anyway!!
I "THINK" we should have YOU for a driver!!!
(IF) you promise not to get lost on a circle track!!
I know darn well you can outrun the rest!!!
Wow, TC good idea. It could read some sort of catchy message that got others thinking about their loved one that's ill with ????
or even get a loved one thinking that "hey, this lyme stuff must be an important thing. Maybe I should be more supportive of my wife, sister, mom or friend, that's living with this lyme disease thing?"
Just Don said.. "I "THINK" we should have YOU for a driver!!! (IF) you promise not to get lost on a circle track!!"
Funny one you are! HA! If I could promise to not loose the car keys it would help!
[lol]
Map... good ideas! I had a hard time putting all we know about Lyme on the side of a race car.. but I did try. And you are right. If we can raise awareness it would be nice!
Hey there in Jackson... nice place! Thanks for the offer to get the word out! But don't be disappointed if we don't win. It's a long shot at best. At least we'll be trying. And lots of folks will have a chance to see "Lyme" that wouldn't otherwise.
Hey Robin 28573659...
Good ideas... and truth is.. we may need them.
I just heard from the judges... posting it below.
Yep.. the news just came in and the design was NOT approved. The note said..
```````````````````````````````````````````````````

Unfortunately, something is holding up the approval process. Now don't fret. This doesn't mean you can't get into the competition. It just means you need to go back and clean up your design a little bit.

That means making sure that there are no privately owned images, or content that could be deemed inappropriate or offensive to our audience. Please feel free to review the rules section of the contest here. Good Luck, and thanks for participating.

```````````````````````````````````````````````````
UGGGGG!
Reviewing the rules section is like reading Webster's Dictionary from cover to cover... lots of fine print and legal stuff.
I may have been one of the few who actually read them before I submitted the design... but I'll have to go back and re-read them and try again.
I did mention the car manufacturer and the driver's name... in a nice way of course ... but that may be a violation of their rules? I dunno?
We'll see. Back to the drawing board!
Tincup,
Hope you are doing a re-draw! Keep changing and submitting!! Love to see one of those Toyotas in "Lyme Green!" - and you know Kyle can go 3-wide all by himself.... has he been checked for "Lyme rage"????
Welcome to TN - wear tick repellant!!!
IT PASSED!!!
Please help get the word out there!
[Big Grin]
The Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car has passed final inspection and is now ready to "race" awareness for Lyme disease!
The winner of the 'design a race car contest' will have their original design painted on an official race car in time for the weekend NASCAR races in North Carolina, where millions will see it live and on TV!
Please click on the link below to see the cool 3D pictures (watch for the bulls-eye rash to appear) and then cast your vote! You can vote once a day, so be sure to re-visit the site and watch the number of votes climb!
Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing Lyme Awareness boys!
Click here! http://www.sponsafier.com/share/165020
Please share this with your email lists, Twitter and Face Book friends too! Thanks!
PS. The winning car designer receives an all expenses paid weeks vacation, race passes, etc for the Charlotte, NC NASCAR races. If we were to win the contest, the grand prize will be donated to a family dealing with Lyme disease.
Hey Robin235638264..
See... I used your catchy phrase! Good idea! Thanks!!!
[Big Grin]
Map.. your post makes me hurt just reading it! OUCH on those bumper cars!
HA!
Jackson... Yes, Kyle and rage may go together? Although Stewart might also fit that bill too! HA!
Glad we all don't have to get behind the wheel of a race car... for sure!
Congrats, Ms TC, on your recent efforts to race awareness for Lyme disease, drawing on everything you know...guess you figured out the manual...(yes, you may color your car, etc)
So, since Just Don thinks you should be the designated driver, maybe it's Let's go racing Lyme Awareness boys and girls!
Your exercise for the next couple months is to walk in circles, in the direction that this race goes - wouldn't want you to go in the wrong direction, 'cause then you might be a hazard on the track.
If you need to chat with someone about how not to get dizzy when turning in circles, I've got a skater referral in mind.
After you've mastered - or mistressed - turning in circles while remaining upright, you can then add sound effects:
vroooom wroooom No roooom for Lyme!
Hey TC,
Stewart's my guy... but he's back in a Chevy now! So... hope it is Kyle in the "Lyme Machine!" It will get lots of attention!
When I first came down this, I thought it would be great to travel across the US, staying at campgrounds, set up a science board and provide info
This car would attack attention for that.
We are doing great with it too.. thanks to you!
Yes... Joey is the driver. I had to pick a Toyota driver from a bunch of great ones... hard to do... but I picked Joey. He smiles a lot!
And here is the list of races where the car would be seen IF we won!
YIPPEE! This is great! Thank you all. 262!!!
It would be wonderful if we could make it to the top 10 list! They go by the number of votes.
So let's keep voting and hoping! I also didn't see too many with high numbers, but I also didn't go through all 7,000 plus cars there either.
Who knows... we MIGHT have a chance? Too cool of we did!
Appreciate you all spreading the word! Keep up the good work!
This is one funny site, looking at all those cars! None as important as this cause - [Smile]
If you click on gallery and then featured, you will supposedly see the cars with the highest vote counts. I'm guessing 'bout that.
I think TC's car has a good chance to come in 2nd, after Hugs and Kittens with 37,024 votes! They must have gotten a ton of elementary school districts to vote for it!
Hugs and Kittens and Lyme, in that order!
On second perusal, however, it says this car is sponsored by sponsafier, so maybe the host site has done this cutesy animal car - ?
Meaning that if the voting keeps going up daily on your car, TC, you have a chance to come in with the top vote after the sponsor's car!
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
379 votes now
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
Hugs and Kittens was the one featured in the TV commercial. I have to admit I laughed to see Kyle Bush dressed in a pink jumpsuit that has baby kittens, rainbows and ponies on it.
[lol]
BUT.. you are right. I realized this contest is judged in the first phase by votes alone... the most wins or gets in the top 10 finals.
So please do keep voting and ask friends to do the same!
You can send these easy instructions out to others, if you will please?
TC,
Why doesn't your race car show up in the featured which was supposedly the cars with the highest votes.
You have more votes than most of the cars in the featured area?????
Shalome
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
Hey Needs...
I can't find an answer to that, so I will make a guess.
Each car, from the day it is approved and registered, has 15 days to get votes... and ONLY 15 days.
The car (hugs & kittens) with 30 some thousand votes... and the Love Car (529 votes) are the ones featured in the TV ads announcing this contest ... and those ads have been running a while now.
So I am thinking...
Could it be that the "featured cars" are only "featured" after the voting closes and there is a final total for that car?
OR..
Do they just put up randomly selected cars there and change them out once in a while?
Seems to me I saw different cars there with only a few votes each at one point.
So I don't know ... but MAYBE our car will be featured eventually? That would be nice!
With over 8,000 cars now registered that are competing against us we would get some attention if that were to happen.
[Big Grin]
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
I just remembered I saw a couple of cars at one point with over 1,000 votes, so my guess is they just change the "featured" ones at random?
TC...I think I goofed up when I posted what I thought was the link to your car on FB...
I wrote something like support lyme disease...
But, posted the link for creating a car..
I think that is how the other car got designed by my cousin..
But, my thinking is in pieces now a days so who knows.
All of this has just been plain fun...something most of us can do no matter how limited we are each day.
Hey TC!
It's me again! Just voted AGAIN and we are at 1120!! WOW!! The word is getting out!
Now... you know how I feel about "My Tony (Stewart #14)"!!! He just has to get back in the winners circle!!!
Oh... just to let everyone know... we had warm weather here in TN yesterday, and this morning I pulled a tiny little tick off the back of my leg - first one of the new season for me!!
It's in bag - anybody want it???
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
The thought of that tick TN gives me the hibby jeebies.
Just did a scan of the pages for cars designed....so many have very few votes....so we are looking good.
Can't figure out how to find out which ones are in the top 10
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
Hey KAM..
You did fine. I am happy to see such a nice car and the talent she has! NEXT time maybe she will help me with a design?
I've never done anything this goofy before.. well, yes I have, of course I have.... but I've never even considered designing a race car.
And you are right. This is just a little bit of plain old fun meant to brighten up a LONG dreary winter.
And the timing for the final selection and big event, May 2010, would be right in time for May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month!
So keep voting and letting us know our new totals. OK?
[Big Grin]
Hey Jackson... you Tennessee Flower Child you...
You will have to have Stewart run over that little sucker with his big tires! After all, we know how much he loves his Goodyear tires! HA!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klOQyVtm6Qk&feature=related
That made me laugh when it happened and still makes me laugh!
Gotta love the bad boys of racing! And as long as Mark Martin doesn't have a chance of winning .... I don't mind if Stewart spends a little time in the winner's circle!
[lol]
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
BTW-
Meet our driver... Joey Lagano. His nick name is "Sliced Bread", as in the greatest thing since.
Joey is the youngest driver to ever enter the Daytona 500 and holds many records for being the "youngest driver" to have many different accomplishments in the field of racing. He is only 19 now.
At age 18 he was racing in Delaware at Dover's Monster Mile Track when this happened.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPACInxXuEU
A tough guy, for sure!
When entering the contest I had to pick from several wonderful drivers, which was the hardest part because they are all so good!
I went with Joey because he is highly recommended by my favorite driver, Mark Martin.
But more importantly, he smiles a lot and you can tell just by listening to him that he is doing exactly what life is all about, and win or not, he is having fun!
Check out that smiling face!
now at 1378, which is almost 50% more than last night's 934, when you were wondering if you'd make 1000!
So, no ice caream? Well then, bird brain says snow cones will have to do for now, with any edible green liquid tossed on top...
Ha - just saw Bill's post - a little picture of what's going on - we're already 3 votes higher than three minutes ago - sorta like a leaky faucet...
I keep getting asked where we stand in the vote count. Since there is no way to check it from that view point... I have no clue.
Tonight I did a small random sampling and found that most cars (90% approx. guess) have under 100 votes.
I certainly can't go through 8,000 plus pages to check them all... but I did go through 400 pages to check. There were several with high votes.
Here are the results listing cars with more votes than ours has now in the 400 pages checked.
Checked Page 6,000 to Page 6,200
Tick Mobile 93 I think
Also thinking it would be great to have a child be the one who is able to ride in the car.
Thinking it would need to be a child that is no longer struggling with lyme disease
As the lights, smells, movement, sounds, etc would be just too much for someone still battling the disease.
I am sure Dr. Jones could help us out.
There is no way of knowing Don. I did a search for cars that had to do with cancer....something like 16 pages of designs.
But, the few pages I looked at the numbers were low.
I also did a search for Chronic Fatigue, Fibro, MS, etc..and came up empty handed.
But, TC's car does not show when you do a search for lyme disease either.
Holy COW! You did a lot of looking and thinking!!! Thanks for that!
VERY interesting too! Ok.. using your list... we should probably try to beat out ..
Car #8 with 6,740 Aint Scared (voting closed)
We have 2,721 right now.
So we would need just over 4,000 MORE votes!!!!
Everyone would have to REALLY push push push cause that is a really TALL order.
I would have been happy with 100 votes. So we've WAY passed that.
What do you all think? Can we do it? I've been sending out updates and doing all I can.... so what do you all say?
the number of votes we already have is AWESOME!
and, even if that's the final number we ended up with, we should be proud that so many people have taken the time to vote.
Looking through literally thousands of cars(though I know there are many thousands more we haven't seen), what I've seen is that most cars didn't reach 100, and only a few dozen have made it past 500 or so.
I agree that 4,000 more would probably clinch a top 10 spot. Can we do it?? Maybe! Its sure worth a shot, given how far and well the Lyme Car has raced in just a few days!!
Go Team Lyme!!!
PS. Dilly... maybe you can do some figuring on how to get more votes. My brain is shot... and yours seems like it is working.
So, tis a couple votes past Bill's again - 2739. Cleared some messages, Bill.
I agree - the voting has been awesome -
Looks like around 400 votes a day coming in. 2739 plus 2400 more makes 5139 - the 10th car is at literally at 5139 - lol
Now, if we could think about who to contact this weekend for the last push. I just took a little action...
robin-
yes, literally dizzy, actually, and i'm seeing visions of racing cars dancing in my head.
last night i had high hopes of going through every last page, but cried uncle after a few thousand, and I'm not going to try again.
i figure, better to just go flat-out gathering up votes. Days ago I sent out to my rarely tapped list of over 200 kind folks who have acted on behalf of the Lyme community before in all manner of ways, especially lovely since none of them are friends or relatives and few on the list have Lyme.
For the past few days I've been digging deep and sending individualized emails to dozens of people who no doubt thought I'd forgotten them, its been so long...
Crazed by cars? Nope, not hardly, but I'm loving seeing so many people feel personally invested in raising Lyme awareness.
Because of that, we've already won the biggest prize out there, as far as I'm concerned. [Cool]
Now watch me get busted. I am going to post this in the Medical Section to see if we can get more help with votes.
Get the chocolate bars ready to bribe the moderators.
Hi - since the vote is going to be close, I suggest we all send out the word to our friends/family, etc, anyone who has a email contacts base - I just did a couple email reach-outs -
question - do you know which day is the last voting day? March 17 0r 18?
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
So for those plans I made earlier. That didn't work. Kinda flip flopped on me. Instead of bribing the moderators and voting on our car....
I am sitting here eating a chocolate bar and am hoping the moderators are out there voting!
[lol]
But that chocolate is SOOOOOOOOOO good!
3,131 is the total now.
Yee haw!
Robin... Not sure what day it ends. From what I am figuring...
It seems the 15 days started at about the time we were "officially approved"?
I noticed the spot that says how many days left changes from (example) 7 days to 6 days in the afternoon... and that is about when I got the notice that it was approved.... so that is why I am guessing at that.
Here is the time and date I got the notice by email.
From:
Subject: Sponsafier - Your Design Has Been Approved!
Date: March 3, 2010 1:33:38 PM EST
Does that help?
Posted by sometimesdilly (Member # 9982) on :
Robin- i think viewers of the race page do need to have Adobe Flash- the website obviously needs/uses mega-graphics, and that's what Flash provides.
Adobe Flash is available online as a free download. Depending on one's puter capacity, it can take as little as a a couple minutes to download and run.
For those interested in downloading, GO TO A REPUTABLE DOWNLOAD SITE, other wise you are literally opening the door to computer viruses and nasties.
This is Kickin'Bumper news reporting live:
We interrupt our regular coverage to bring you this story of an extraordinary coast-to-coast human effort, perhaps even beyond our borders, to qualify a race car design for NASCAR races in May 2010.
But not just any race car, mind you - this is a race car that is "racing" awareness for a disease that many consider to be an auto-immune condition - but not anymore, folks, not anymore -
These folks are not immune, no sirree, to the possibility that a special auto is going to bring some speedy attention to their condition which is NOT a car ailment -
Lyme disease happens to be an illness affecting car drivers and their nondriving friends and their pets - who knows, you might even have it if you've been noticing a lot of strange undiagnosed symptoms
which are driving you nuts and causing you to spin your wheels obsessively-compulsively round and round in endless medical appointments and attempts to free yourself from the darndest symptoms,
which, in this case, appears to be an uncontrollable obsessive-compulsive urge to click the current car vote number one vote higher each day -
the car vote is currently rounding the bend, going from zero to nearly 4000 votes in less than two weeks time -
this daily clicking has turned into such a national craze that people are even taking to naming their newborns +1, add-one and 1-more -
and asking their doctors for gasoline instead of meds and how they can stay on track with their treatments
as everyone races through the final days to let everyone else they know or don't know again and again through websites and emails - and more emails! - about the chance for a 180-mile-an-hour cure for their ailment.
Oh, and this was started by one Tincup, who we have heard is a human NASCAR race enthusiast and not a light drinking race car utensil -
Whew, folks, gotta go now - and please join me at www.sponsafier.com/share/165020 to add your magic fingers input and drive that vote up, baby, drive it up! Today! Tomorrow! Tomorrow and tomorrow! Stay tuned!
Thanks for this heads up by Ms. D (forgot her Lnet name, sorry, and don;t want to post her real name):
The contest now lists the cars with the most votes- (YAY!!!)
and, drum roll... WE ARE ON THAT LIST!!!!!!
[woohoo] [woohoo] :
Which means, that the many many thousands of people who are visiting that site WILL SEE OUR CAR!
That is so huge, since exactly that kind of visibility has been the goal all along. Wow!
We currently rank 24 out of the nearly 72,000 cars in the contest. How awesome is THAT?! [Cool]
We know now that we'd need to get over 9,000 votes total to place in the top 10-- right now that's about 5,000 more votes in 4 days.
A week ago I'd have said that's nuts and impossible. Now? Dunno, maybe it IS possible, but IMO, we've already won exactly what we were looking for--- a huge audience.
[bow] [bow] [bow] to everyone who is making this possible.
Hey - it just happened - we just passed 6000, with a 6002 count!!!
And I even get to follow another of Bill's reports!
Ok, let's see - I reported 3000 on Sat afternoon, so it took 3 and 1/2 days to double.
So, closing in on cancer now (we salute Linda too) and we ain't scared to pass Ain't Scared and be within vicinity of Remembering Mom (Lymetoo - the car on the left of our row, for breast cancer)
How far this goes depends on what two days left means - we could possibly end up on the 2nd page, if it means some time still -
So how about this idea: we list all the diseases on one car next year which can then finish first??!! Everyone can have a car panel on the All-Star diseases car - there might be a fight over the hood spot - I know - this is sick humor -
Hey there - you're up - I have an excuse - not too late here - but you? You don't sleep? I know, too exciting here -
Did you know that the site is still accepting car designs? Voting is closed, but they are allowing the public to design cars!
I know, because I designed three, and one went on! Won't tell you which one, since it was my practice car! If the others "make it out of the garage," then I'll say, 'cause I got more used to working with the graphic options.
But can I say this - it's fun - so I encourage more of us here just to play with it - [Smile]
There are currently 77,128 cars entered in the contest so far.
We are in 19th place!
Even in an official NASCAR race there are only 42-44 cars entered ... and being in the top 20 at the end of the race means you've done good!
This means our engines and tires held out for 15 days... and we didn't crash! That's really something for a bunch of folks with Lyme!
You should be smiling!
6703! 700 more votes than last time I was here!
Going to pass Ain't Scared very soon!
RE OUR REMAINING TIME TO VOTE: TC put a message on page 2 - the Lyme car was approved on March 3 at 1:33:38pm EST. That's our ending time on Thursday, I believe, so get those votes in before that time, in your time zone!!
.................................................
We can still vote for another Lyme car designed by Kam's cousin: www.sponsafier.com/share/171573. Open for three more days.
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Report on a couple others: Lo and Izzy are going to pass top cars. They have just passed kids with heart disease. They will be the top-voted disease car - fight type #1 diabetes.
Leadfoot indeed has a leadfoot and has made it into the top ten. It is now gunning for the first page cars - watch out!
I just took another look at leadfoot's climb - every couple seconds its count goes up - almost seems like it's a bot -
And another look - every 20 seconds, leadfoot is up 6 votes. Now I'm going to hazard a guess - that this car is on automatic vote-gathering, to be qualified for the final car pick. My guess at this point. I wish they would keep the contest fair...
.................................................
Looking at some more cars: someone has honored TC with another "Lyme Awareness" car -
..................................................
My cars got on!! They're still on the simpler side tho - I think I'll go for a wilder look next, in my spare time -
Keyboard Carrrazy
Thanx For The Fun!
Anyone can do this - something to think about as we wind down from all the Lyme car sound and fury -
And, there are new cars open for voting - I looked in the featured section - I'd like to recommend one: "This Car Is Bananas" - totally delightful!
Alright - leadfoot has just made it to the first page. My question at this point: is this contest rigged? No car can go up 18 votes a minute steadily like this one is doing.
Still, this has been a total blast, and we're so proud of everyone's efforts - it's been a good feeling to not feel alone with this condition - that everyone is working together to bring attention to the cause - [group hug]
I just checked out the site and it says round 1 is cloosed and there is no opion to vote . there was no total posted either .
Posted by Robin123 (Member # 9197) on :
Bill, March 15 was the last day to qualify a car. Any car approved on March 15 is open for two weeks voting time.
That means we can still vote for cars we like - but only if they have lower counts than ours - [Big Grin]
In the meantime, it is possible for anyone to design a car - it goes in the garage as "pending", and if we have behaved ourself in designing it, then they put it out, but there's no voting.
Looks like people are still going to town with the fun of the whole thing. So any of us can play with designs...
Woke up early and had to see what was happening here - wooo hooo!! Thanks for letting everyone know what's happenin', Dilly!
That car really looks good on page two - amazing to think that everyone moved it over a whole page. This collective vote experience should be written up!
For me, it broke the isolation of the experience, to visibly see each person's vote coming in from wherever, for everyone - it feels good!
Now that we've flexed our collective muscle, what's next?
I know - we send TC to the NASCAR races in May as a thank you - [Big Grin]
One more comment - flicking back and forth a couple times, I can see the vote is coming in strong now - we have enough people voting daily now to potentially get enough votes in to pass some more cars -
Anyway, whatever happens, it's all good - [Smile]
To review how we got this far this fast:
March 3: The Lyme race car is officially entered into the race.
March 4: total of 140 votes
March 6: 262 votes total
March 7: 500 votes total
March 8: 838 votes total
March 9: 1015 in the morning, 1358 by midnight
March 10: 1542 votes
March 12: 2737 votes
March 13: 3131 votes
March 14: 3792
maybe there was a grace period of hours given past the precise hour cars were entered?
who knows. 34 votes, that's all, away from 14th place.
and in the big picture, only a few hundred votes lie between where we are and 13th place.
The Lyme car ROCKS, as does the person who came up with the idea- TINCUP.
I looked up how many folks we may actually have reached by doing so well in the contest.
There are multiple website traffic trackers out there that keep track of this sort of thing, and here's what I found:
The racing website, even before things got into full swing, was attracting over 300,000 unique visitors A DAY.
That is an ENORMOUS audience for our Lyme Awareness car!!
Wow and then some...
Please share this with everyone!
AMAZING NEWS and CONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks to you...
Out of a field of over 78,000 cars that were entered in the contest, the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car shot up the ladder and made it into 15th place by the time the voting period ended today.
The team work on this project couldn't have been better! We ended up with 7,889 votes!
Thanks to all who made it a point to vote for our special car. Thanks also to the individuals and groups that put the contest information on their websites, shared it by email, face book and twitter.
Without all of you this success wouldn't have been possible!
The Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car will be on display on the official website for at least another 10 or more days. Thanks to your efforts, millions of people will have a chance to see it that normally wouldn't.
As a special thanks to all of you, another car has been designed that not only expresses our sincere gratitude to you, it will hopefully redistribute the energy we are all feeling into another worthwhile project so we can keep the positive momentum going.
Please check out the link below and be sure to click on the 3-D button to read the message on the hood, and to see the car's roof and the spoiler on the back of the car.
Lyme- Thank You!
I want to invite everyone to help us in a special effort to support our dear Dr. Charles R. Jones and his children.
He continues to brave the many forces against him that are trying to force him into bankruptcy or retirement so he will stop treating the countless sick children with Lyme and tick borne diseases.
Please check the website below which is under construction (pardon our dust while it is being developed), but which has been put into action early to assist us with our new project-
"April is Support Dr Jones Month".
https://sites.google.com/site/marylandlyme/dr-jones
If you would like to join us in this effort, we would be thrilled!
Please send your completed plans and details for helping Dr. Jones to us by replying to this email, so they can be included on this page for all to see.
Thanks again for your support to help race Lyme disease awareness! A sweet success it was!
You couldn't make this stuff up, how this finished today, with the Lyme car perfectly zooming in between two close-count cars, and us not realizing that we had an extra hour to vote due to daylight savings! Too funny!
It was really fun watching the votes come in - for anyone who was watching the count change every couple seconds. THAT was the race right there - it couldn't get any faster than that! - [Smile]
And thx for making another car, TC - they're fun to design.
UGGG.. I was watching some racing legends doing a 35 lap run today at Bristol.
There was a bad wreck just before the end... and these "legends"... some in their 70's now... were going faster than the regular race cars were earlier in the day.
Just heard the driver of one car (Pearson) had a broken pelvis, ankle and hand. So sorry to hear that, but glad it wasn't worse. We were all worried.
To see video...
Also....
Now that you are a racing fan... [Big Grin]
Sunday at 1 PM Eastern time... on FOX network is the Bristol Race... Sprint Cup Series.
It is only a 1/2 mile track- so talk about going in tight circles.... at over 160 mph... wow!
[Big Grin]
Wonder if our car will be out there?
JUST KIDDING for those who might think I am serious!
Right - we'll all be watching race car races after watching all those Toyotas driving up on our screens - lol.
I'm noticing Toyota Camrys out on the road now, and I keep thinking they need some decor!
