I am so sad this beautiful lady was infected.

She is one of my all time favorites.

Te-He I try to sing "Your so vain" all the time.

She has a new album coming out, Thank God.

It is titled, "Never Been Gone".

It made me cry as most of us have been here all along, and never been gone.

Maybe she'll take up this cause, though often it seems like celebs shy away from drawing a lot of attention to their health problems.

I am a fan from way back. I love Carly Simon's songs. Here is another article that mentions Carly Simon and Lyme.

http://weeklyseven.com/news/2010/june/10/he%E2%80%99s-so-vain-carly-simon-and-wannabe-madoff

"Wearing a white nightgown, a kind of Victorian-style shift, she answered the phone. "I'm fine," she said. "I'm not fine, what am I saying?" For one thing, she's been ill: She thinks she was bitten by a tick when her horse was put down." ...

"Her West Village duplex has been on the market for years, but she still has her house on Martha's Vineyard. There, waiting for a Lyme disease test early this week, she was in bed again in the late afternoon, but optimistic. ``I'm a believer,'' she said. ``So I'm a believer that the next great thing could happen.''"

I really hope she knows that the tests aren't accurate!

It's hard to imagine living on Martha's Vineyard all those years and NOT having Lyme.

I sure hope she draws some more attention to our fight [Smile] , but when 'The Boss' said nary a word...in the press anyhow... about poor Bill Chinnook, up in ME, after he did himself in (Bill was an original member of the E Street Band in NJ back in the early '70s), I start to wonder if all these big music-industry "icons" just want to keep mum- as they age- when it comes to personal health.

Seems Everyone's falling of the stage &/ or ripping their bodys up lately. [Eek!] You aren't 25 forever! Geesh! Even the store manager- where I work- messed up his back at a gig last Friday.

I secretly hope Carlyn's "ex".. J.T., takes on the cause. Esp with things getting worse down on the Vineyard. But he's busy lately with Carole King... doing that "reminiscing tour"... And chatting about ticks might break the spell, huh? [Roll Eyes]

[sorry about that looong 1st sentence [Razz] )

Well if I'm ever famous, I'll be Lyme's pitbull. I'll attack and won't let go until we've won.

Thats the spirit! I suspect trauma to the immune system when she lost her life time friend-her horse.

So many seem to have the same thing happen in Lyme if we too become stressed in any way.

I get envious of the people able to afford any and all types of treatment. I just don't sympathize with them as much as I do with the person stuck with no LLMD's in their state and no funds. Hopefully, she realizes about those of us that more unfortunate and crusades for the cause.

I don't have time to search the whole blog, but if i remember correctly, she's had Lyme for at least 20 yrs....??

When she kinda "disappeared" for awhile.. it was the Lyme. She used to have panic attacks and performing made them worse.

I used to listen to her while in college... listened to her, Neil Diamond, The Moody Blues, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel!!... on and on... they were all great!!
