I just wanted to post something. I was a member here in 2010 and became very active as I became very sick. I'm 24 now and have been through a lot of stuff. I got down to 125 lbs/ (5' 10") a suicide attempt, IV, going nuts, feeling like there was no hope. I am off meds and living my life. I am not perfect, I still have pain, sometimes it gets worse, sometimes its better, but it never leaves. I have eaten gluten, dairy, sugar and am still alive. I have even had alcohol and not had major setbacks.

I have my life back though, I am a musician and have been gigging, practicing, and keeping up with kids my age who have no problems. Its so hard, and its taxing, and its impossible to find anyone who understands. But I am applying to universities and am likely to be accepted to some schools. I just wanted to share with everyone. I used to sit and read all day and praying that I could do what I did before. And it happened. So please never give up, and know that it will end. You can have your life back.

I wish you all the best and thank you to everyone who ever talked to me, listened to me cry, listened to me in my darkest hours. I will never ever forget what lyme has taught me. I will always keep spreading the word for us and hopefully one day no one will have to go through this, but let it make you a better person. Not a bitter one.

I have a blog about things I do or how my progress is. I would love to share whats going on in my head with you guys.

Be well

Jon

Congrats on your recovery...I needed to see this today, as I am in the thick of this crap right now, as is someone I love a lot. I am so happy for you-thanks for giving me hope! I know you still have struggles, but you have come a long way and that is amazing. I hope things continue to improve for you. Jess.
