I have been diagnosed with vaginitis and given flagyl cream. I look at the kit every day but am petrified to take it because I don't know how much will be absorbed into the rest of me and set off a horrible reaction. Does anyone have any experience with this? Have not been on any antibiotics for almost a year and am pretty miserable.

I would take it. Personally, vaginal infections aren't something I would want to mess around with. I am not sure on this, but I think vaginal infections can lead to all kinds of problems later on. If you ever want to have kids, you wouldn't want the baby to go through an infected birth canal. Might as well nip it in the bud. That's my logic.

Child bearing is not an issue for me now but I guess I don't need another infection on top of everything else.

Is there any other type of antibiotic cream that they could give you? Instead of Flagyl?

Also, things like cancer (not talking about your case specifically). Human Papilloma (spelling?) virus (HPV) can lead to female cancers. Granted, that is a virus, but it just makes you think about how infections can cause bad things to happen. I say, get rid of the infection if you can.
Not trying to spread fear...just sayin.
Good luck! Chances are, you won't need to use the cream for very long.
I would be sure to take plenty of probiotics orally, during and after the Flagyl, because the Flagyl may kill some of your good vaginal bacteria that you need to fend off yeast.

Since I bought the flagy already I might as well take it. I hope nothing horrible happens.
