Is it common to have your face feel like it is tight or frozen, kind of a pulling sensation?
Anything to do for it?

I have had it. It's extremely common with Lyme and co. Also tongue is commonly involved too. It's scary and then annoying but hopefully it will go away early in your treatment.

This is inflammation of the facial nerve, commonly called Lyme-induced Bell's Palsy. It goes away with treatment.

B vitamins, CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Fish Oil and Phosphatidylserine are supplements that support the nervous system.

What I really wanted to say is that I have facial twitching. Between us we have one normal face. We really should go to a party together. People won't know what to think!

Magnesium is good, too. Maybe the most important. Can't believe I forgot that one.

More for muscles than nerves, but we are all deficient.

For 3 1/2 years I felt like my face was being pulled down by gravity. It gave me a scowling look and I thought I needed a face lift--thought it was from aging. This condition is a mild bilateral (both sides) bells palsy. It went away on its own, long before I got my lyme diagnosis.

I would take sublingual vit B12 for it. That's what my now famous lyme doc had me take for various neurological symptoms I complained of.

Look at the supplements Burrascano recommends for neurological symptoms. Starts on page 29:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

Take as many of those things as you can. Good lyme treatment will eventually get rid of this, or it can go away on its own any time, just like mine did.

Thank you!!! Appreciate the feedback! So, probably not a herx reaction that I should go off antibiotics?

New symptoms can be a herx, but don't go off antibiotics unless your doc recommends it. Sometimes these new symptoms can last for quite a while. I had numb toes for most of my first year of treatment.

Some docs have patients discontinue or reduce abx for herxing, but they are in the minority. Most say to keep going unless herxing becomes severe.

Call your doc if you are unsure.
