My biggest problem with this disease ,( certainally not the only) is (and has been documented) is an overactive nervous system causeing terrible pin pricks and burning sensation all over, even my teeth, and private parts. I was told by my doc that if I don't calm it down I will have a massive heart attack. ( scary) Obvesiously, it is made worse by stress. I was given a herbal remedy, amantilla, which I took in the lowest dose possible and it made things 10 times worse. Has anyone had an overactive nervous system like I am describeing, and have you ever found anything to help it? Are there any Lyme Literate doc's that specialise in this? Thank you

Yes there are LLMD that deal with this. Meds like Lyrica, neurontin, are precribed to dull the nerve pain. These do have side effects. One that causes your blood sugar to rise. Klonopin can be taken to dull nerve sensory and anxiety and help you sleep. I use it during the day also for nerve pain.
A better option that is an immune modulator as well as working on pain is Low Dose Naltrexone. Go to Lowdosenaltrexone.com and make sure you get it compounded at one of the pharmacies mentioned on the site. They will ship to you. This is an amazing med that has has many clinical studies done on it for MS,CFS,Fibro pain.
Also have your Vit B12 checked .. If below 500 it can cause neuropathy pins and needles and burning pain. Do not let a dr tell you it is ok at 200. In Japan if you have a reading at 500 you are treated with B12 supps. God Bless
