Has anyone lost speech ability and swallowing capability from neuro lyme. if so, how long after treatment did symptoms improve. my llmd has had me on intravenous antibiotics for 1 month so far and is going to extend for another month. It's no fun not being able to speak and swallow. I have lost so much weight .

Hubby has had this problem on a temporary basis only -- lasting from a few minutes to a few hours.
One of the most dramatic cases of this I know is the following site. The girls father posted here in the last month or so documenting his daughter's improvment.

I had these symptoms for several months before my final Lyme crush (sept. 2008)-when I was diagnosed.
These symptoms intesnified during treatment for babesia. Sometimes I had to force myself to breathe too.Had bells palsy too.
I have been on agressive abx treatment for 2 years, but it took 3-4 months for these symptoms to go away. I think babesia is causing this.
