I haven't heard it being used for pain, but Dr. H. uses it (for lyme), and he says the effects can be exceptionally great (comes quick, but it is transient).
Let us know how it goes with you! Did you do IV or oral?

Yep, I do the infusion at home with my PICC line. It's like a boost of life for me. I try to do an infusion at least once a month but its important to not have it within 24-48 hours of any antibiotics. Same as the Meyer's Cocktail infusion. I like to alternate the two. But now I'm starting a new antibiotic protocol without any breaks in it, so the glutathione will have to wait. Good luck.

@mcaringella. How long does it take until you feel the effects? (hours, days, weeks). And how long does the effects last?

I am doing the oral, twice a day. Dr. said I should see a difference in a couple of weeks. He wishes he'd known about it when I was 1st diagnosed so I could have done the IV for a couple of weeks. My pain specialist has been trained for treating Lyme. Thank goodness, no Lyme drs around here. (Indiana)

My husband got improvement in neuropathic pain from transdermal glutathione literally overnight.
However, it turned out that his metals load was too high to continue. I'm hoping that after he gets his amalgams out, he might be able to try it again.

I am not 100% but I think if you have sulfa allergies you are not able to use it. My llmd did the first iv in his office so he could be there if I had a reaction to sulfa.

I react to straight glutathione in any form. Then I did the detoxigenomic liver test through Genova Diagnostics and found out I have a hard time handling that pathway genetically.
I am now seeing if I can handle any precursors; I may have passed one.
Just to let you know in case someone cannot handle glutathione supplements.
Hm - since Genova Diagnostics gives information sheets out about test results and what we can take and not take, I wonder if they could discuss the sulfa question at all. They're in NC.

I just started oral glutathionine today. It is not supposed to be nearly as helpful as IV but maybe it will do something.

My dos prescribed IV glut while I am on my antibiotics...are you really not supposed to do them while on abx????

Robin123 - that Genova Diag test only 2 genes related to glutathione, GSTM1 and GSTP1. one of them is missing in ~45% of several ethnic groups like eastern europeans. It definitely has medical significance, but I dont think it has anything to do with how well you tolerate/handle glutathione supplements.
btw GSH is mostly needed intracellular, and it doesnt cross well the cell membrane. So GSH IV actually isnt that good. GSH oral is essentially worthless (terrible bioavailibility). GSH liposomal oral might be better. Overall undenatured whey protein is the way to go. No need to buy the expensive stuff like immunocal.

It takes about an hour or two, but by the end of the day I feel it for sure and definately for a few days, then it's back to the old me. It's worth it though.

Wow...I didn't know glutathione cannot be used the same time as antibiotic. I do know it needs to be taken separately from antibiotic but not 24-48 hours. Can anyone confirm this?
