I have been noticing my hair falling out, especially in the shower, for the past year, however, my father was diagnosed with cancer last year and this is also when I started noticing it. I lost my dad a month ago, is this lyme or stress? any suggestions on what I can take for it? thanks Diana

Could be both...lyme can cause hairloss but so can stress..
Sometimes biotin supplements can help..

You poor thing. Sorry about your dad.
I am having MAJOR hair issues myself. It's always been on the thin side, but now it's much worse. My doc just tested me and I am very low in Iron (which contributes to hair loss). Also, she said to take Biotin, but take enough, like 5000 mcg. My bottle says I can take it twice a day, so that is what I am doing.
I also read on some previous post that someone thought it was related to Zith (which I am taking). I don't know if this is for certain or not.
Good luck. I know it can be upsetting. And it's just one more thing that we really don't need to deal with.
Best to you, Tammy

High testosterone and high DHEA for women can cause this too. Signs of PCOS.

Biotin made a huge, huge diff. for me. See if you can find 5 mg (yes, mg). They come in micrograms, but one called Country Life comes in 5 mg.
It's pretty cheap too, about 10.00 for 60 capsules. 5 mg is the most you can take per day, I think.
Also if you are on any anti fungals like Nystatin they can cause hair loss as well. I stopped mine.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad last year...it didn't really hit me until later..grief is a process. A wierd one.
My thyroid has been responsible for a lot of my hair loss. How do I know? when I started on T3 and T4 supplements it stopped falling out by the fistful. Although...I did start back in IV azithromax 4 weeks ago and it started again and now I also have scabs and sores in my scalp. Thanks Tammy I didn't know the relationship to ABX. Best wishes to you and yours
