I've been searching and searching for 4 years whats wrong with me and now have the answer.LYME!! I have felt so teerrible and like I'm literally dieing all this time with fatigue and so on no answers. My LLMD's office called today with my igenex results and said the doctor want's me in to see her tomorrow to start treatment.I guess from what there saying I was clear cut postive 100%. I have done a lot of reseach on lyme buy am still learning. From those of you who began treatment with chronic lyme what can I expect? Will I be able to work and take care of myself?Or is this just not even possible? This is all really scaring the hell out of me!! I'm a 26 year old college student and this just hit me pretty hard. any advice would be great. thank you.

Hi,

I remember the relief I felt when I was FINALLY diagnosed. Everybody reacts differently to

treatment. I guess there are a lot of variables i.e. co-infections, amount of time you've been ill etc.

For me personally, I continually got better after I starting treatment . My herx's have been

pretty tame, although I know that is not the case for many here, this is just me personally.

I believe I had lyme 2 yrs. before diagnosis. I also have babesia. My symptoms were severe from

extreme muscle pain to strange sensations that my brain was turning inside my head, twitching,

sweats, anxiety etc. etc.. I felt like I would either die or go completely insane. I've been on

treatment for just over 2 years and feel about 87% better. The people here are great and can

answer many of your questions. I just wanted to share my story, best wishes to you.

abbyjo,

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm glad to hear your feeling a lot better now! I guess your right in saying were all going to react different. I guess I'll just have to find out. I'm tired of living like this and have missed out on so much this past 4 to 5 years of being sick. I'm just mad at the system and why they didn't find this sooner. thanks

I'm also a 26 year old college (online, Thank God) student, a mom, and a painter by trade.

I keep going everyday because I have to. When we are working I have to, as the Army says, "suck it up and drive on hooah." I don't have a choice, it is our only means of income and we needs to feed ourselves and our children.

It's not easy. And on the days we are home you will usually find me napping at some point during the day. On the days we work I obviously can't nap so by 9pm I'm dead to the world.

I'm in a butt load of pain everyday, when I'm sitting I'm in pain, when I'm laying down I'm in pain, when I'm walking I'm in pain. But if it doesn't matter what I'm doing when the pain is there then I do what I need to do to keep this house running smoothly.

I get help from my husband sometimes. Depends on the day, lol.

I don't lift heavy objects, I don't over do it. I don't carry the 5 gallon buckets of paint, I leave that for my husband. I do the minimal work needed in order to complete the job successfully.

Good Luck
