I't is hard to know how long it will take to improve but i think you are in the right direction.Treat agresively if you do not have any problem with any antibiotics. But if you are in the good medication IV i think in a month or two you will see things changing for good .First will be worst and then better with lyme. But if you take rocephin IV take flagyl with it works wonders, and also azithromycin if your body tolerates ,alot of probioticsand protect the gallbladderwith ursodill.Last week i had a feling that my swallowing muscles fill tired and this a second time taht i have that felling and today I'm going to a MD to check it what is wrong. Hope you fill better

Make sure you take plenty of Nystatin or what ever your doc prescribed to prevent the yeasts.
A heat pad may help on the throat.
