Make sure it is not your blood pressure and then I would try some Sweet oil.
You can get it at wally world in pharmacy dept. A couple of drops in each ear stopped mine quick.

oh yeah! I have a locust in my right ear and a low metalic hum in my left.. makes me nuts sometimes...and it is way bug related! it got really loud when I started ABX after my first injection of ceftriaxione...crazy loud cicadas in my ear- only one side of course! I am also super sensitive, cry when my cell phone is too loud, can't use appliances. all the best and no, you are not alone!

Yes, in my right ear! You describe it perfectly. My doctor looked in my ear and said it was fluid. She gave me a prescription antihistamine which I could not take due to palpitations, fast pulse, dizzy etc..
I also tried something for swimmers ear and that didn't work either but I read reviews from a number of people who said it worked great for them.
I've used ear candles to clean the ears before so I used ear candles to see if I could clear out any debri and hopefully get the fluid to drain. That did not work.
I see my doctor again in a few weeks and I hope she has a way of fixing it because it really bothers me sometimes.
I'll let you know what she suggests.

Are any of you on Zithromax? That caused all of the problems you are describing for me. Once I stopped (abruptly, not in the plan), the ear sensations went away (gradually).

A few months back, I would get this horrible sensation of an insect crawling in my ear. It felt EXACTLY like there was a bug in my ear. It was maddening. went away after a few weeks, but it was scary. My ears do pulsate. and they are clogged and they hurt sometimes....argh
