Hi Everyone:)

Only those who are very open to ALTERNATIVE (very alternative!) healing modalities should read any further. Others should just close this thread. I am posting this for information sharing only.
Please watch this youtube video on a Fox news broadcast report on Tong Ren:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqp0PTigz7E

I have only recently become aware of this healing modality.

Does it work? I don't know. People are reporting healings with it.

I can tell you what I saw with my own eyes when I attended 3 local classes. I have a friend with lyme who managed to physically get me to 3 local Tong Ren sessions. There are local classes over the USA. Locations near you posted on their website or elsewhere online. They self named them "guinea pig classes". They ask for a small donation of $3-$10 to attend a class. So OMG if it works, watch out medical/pharmaceutical world. Needless to say this treatment modality will come under great attack and scrutiny for a variety of reasons.

The bottom line is people are reporting they are getting well and swear it is from the TongRen healing.

So, ok this is what I witnessed. The first class there was an older native american woman who couldn't walk. Her daughter had to hoist her up using her own body weight and then hook her mother up to her body using seat belt looking things. It took several people to help them. Then, the daughter "walked her" by standing behind and pushing her feet. I can't imagine why they don't have a wheelchair for her. I felt like giving her mine.

I have never seen anything like this before in my life. The old lady sat straight across from me and there was a look of understanding between the two of us that was stange but warm feeling. She didn't smile or speak. It seemed like she had maybe had a stroke of some sort. I couldn't help but notice how HUGELY swollen her left ankle was compared to the normal size right ankle. She told the instructor they were there for help for the ankle. The daughter explained the mother had twisted it falling.

So, the instructor and other experienced class members took out these little 12" plastic acupuncture model dolls and began banging on acupuncture meridian points with a magnetic hammer while the instructor called out which points next to bang. Sounded like a bingo game. Yeah that is what I said.

I sat there thinking are these people nuts. They look normal, most nicely dressed, one an RN. I looked at my friend, an LVN, wondering if she had lost her mind. She said don't ask, just watch the old lady's ankle. After several minutes of people banging their hammers on the doll the old lady's ankle swelling went down right before my eyes. I kept blinking in disbelief. The moments felt surrealistic where at times her ankle looked blurred in my vision. Everyone in the class was focused looking at me looking at the ankle and blinking in disbelief with my mouth was hanging wide open. I think they like to see the look on the face of "newbies" as things change.

Within minutes the size of the swollen ankle was the same as the other one. She was still the same otherwise, still couldn't walk etc. but I remained equally STUNNED.

Next class, an elderly business man and his wife showed up. He had severe osteoporitis or something making him severely hunchback, entirely bent over with his elderly wife helping him hobble in. The class banged away on the dolls with the hammers and then did some disk thing on his back where several members stood around him and each put a couple of fingers on the disk. When they were done he was able to stand up 50% better than when he walked in. At the next class, he walked in straight as an arrow entirely unassisted with his wife in tears of gratitude. They were there that week to ask the class to tap for his kidney functioning in hopes he could stop dialysis. I have not been able to go to any other classes so have no idea what else is happening with him now.

They did the disk thing on me too, and it made the area where the disk was on body get very hot. The people putting fingers on the disk began saying it was getting so hot they couldn't keep holding it much longer. Apparently it doesn't usually get that hot maybe.

My LVN friend with lyme, while still very sick and still also doing conventional lyme treatment in combination with Tong Ren, is now walking without her cane and experiencing glimpses of her old self again.

Make no mistake about it. This is not magic. Like all treatment it is long term treatment.

I don't know how or why the 2 miraculous things I witnessed happened. I personally think it was God showing to me that I can get well. Those miracles were for me to see it can happen and give me hope. I need that hope so please don't post negative things stripping what little hope I have left away. I have been bedridden for 6 years, sick with lyme since 15 and now 59.

While I am physically unable to attend the local classes, I just learned that everyone can view/participate online at tongrengstation.com.

You can also order the TongRen kit online and do it yourself.

Online there are live session classes where you type into a chat box and ask them to tap for your condition(s). I have done that a couple of times now, and they did tap me for me.

When they tap for you, your face/body/hands/feet, get warm or tingly so something is happening. When they tapped for me at the classes I attended my body got very warm and turned red. The changes don't always happen immediately, it can sometimes be a few days before changes are felt. Some times I don't feel change at all, so who knows.

I know there are others like me, bedridden who can't physically get to medical care. So, I am posting this mostly for them to have hope as anyone with access to a computer can participate in this.

Tong Ren Healing is an eastern medicine modality that integrates the theories of acupuncture with Carl Jung's collection consciousness healing theories. I don't know enough to explain it, but at the link below there is a letter/article written by an MD whose mother's incurable illness was helped. TongRen instructors encourage that the letter/article be distributed to patients and medical professionals:

http://www.tongrenstation.com/files/tong_ren_overview_dear_doctor.pdf

There are live classes aired on line and also 24 Hour Rebroadcast link of prior classes, which they say work as effectively.

The 24 hr rebroadcasts are several hours in length. It consists of different types of classes, most are "general" or "immune system"....for multiple disorders; cancer, MS, thyroid, heart, immune system, hormones, special weight loss classes, etc.

However, please be aware that during the classes they tap several times for lyme disease and chronic fatigue!!!!

The instructor, developer, of Tong Ren Healing is Tom Tam who is asian with a very strong dialect. Difficult to understand the first time you listen, but after listening 2 or 3 times you will begin to understand his english. He is a very funny and compassionate man so the classes are full of healing laughter. Laughter is good for the soul and healing so for those of us bedridden it can be healing to just listen to it for that reason alone. It is genuine laughter of love with these class members who have great love and respect for this healer.

The online classes are originating from the northeast so times posted are EST time.

Hope this helps others!

It's interesting to read about this but it does raise some concerns. Being open to "alternative" medicine is not always the same as suggesting that all non-allopathic methods meet the strict codes and disciple of naturopathic fields of study/practice.

For those looking to find licensed professionals in acupuncture and herbal medicine, and those who are also specifically lyme literate and ILADS-educated:

Forgot to add the following:

http://www.tomtam.com/content/tom-tam

Tom Tam is a licensed acupuncturist in Massachusetts and has practiced acupuncture in Chinatown, Boston for 25 years.

In 1984 Tom trained his students in acupuncture and Tui Na in the Boston area.

In the ninetys, Tom formed his own healing system, and wrote the Tom Tam Healing System (1995). Also he wrote a Chinese healing book, An Zhen The Palpation diagnose (2005). This book combined the west and east medical knowledge and formed a new theory for the understanding and healing the difficulty disease.

For the last 25 years, Tom has been one of the foremost students of Master Gin Soon Chu, the fifth generation master of traditional Yang family Tai Chi Chuan, who is the descendent of Grandmaster Yang Shou Chong. Tom has taught Tai Chi Chuan for more than 20 years in the greater Boston area. Many of his Tai Chi students are teaching Tai Chi Chuan in America.

In 1987, Tom founded the Boston Chi Gong Center and began training students. The following year, he founded the Oriental Culture Institute and organized the Boston Chi Gong Delegation to China.

In 1988, Tom formed the Boston Chi Gong Delegation and traveled with 23 Tai Chi and Chi Gong students to China.

In 1989 Tom developed his own system for Chi Gong healing, and has trained many Chi Gong healers.

In 1994, Tom developed the Tong Ren healing system, and brought a group of students to visit mainland China and Taiwan in order to share his Tong Ren healing method. In Guang Zhou Tradition Chinese Medical College, he demonstrated Tong Ren healing for weight loss, followed by a trip to Taipei to demonstrate Tong Rens benefit on leukemia.

In 1992 Tom visited China again, and performed the Tai Chi fast knife in Tai Yuan.

In 1994 he performed the Yang Family Tai Chi fast form in Taipei and won the gold medal. Now Tom is planning to finish his Tai Chi book, Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan.

In 2001, the first Guinea Pig class was formed for treating cancer in Quincy, Massachusetts. Now the Guinea Pig class for healing has spread to many countries around the world.

In July of 2007, Fox News broadcasting produced a news segment based on Tong Ren Healing and the Guinea Pig class. Soon after, PBS requested permission to create a segment based on Tong Ren Healing and is currently making a program with the Guinea Pig class.

And, just to be clear, there is NO acupuncture...no needles...NONE. The meridian points are only stimulated and chi moved by intention of thought/action, whether banging with the hammer or self massage.

It is the foreign practice of using one's "intention" to move chi in the body by using these magnetic hammers to bang (stimulate) meridian points on the plastic acupunture doll. Sounds crazy I know. I am still baffled. But after what I witnessed in the classes, I bought a Tong Ren kit, though the kit is not necessary! I did not know that until today. In the free online class today the instructor said you can use anything to tap on or with, just focus on your intention as they call out the meridian points.

For those homebound, you can google online free, print out any acupuncture meridian chart. Then use a ballpoint pen or anything to tap the meridian points.

The classes online are offered 7 days a week, with the 24 hr rebroadcast always available (for those with insomnia!)

Tom Tam and some of the other instructors are licensed acupuncturists with private practices.

However, they donate their time free for the online Tong Ren classes to help with universal healing for all around the globe. Kind of a free universal global health care system that is shared freely for those who can't afford care and small donations requested for those who can pay something. It helps to pay for the cost of freely broadcasting the classes online for all.

This is not the answer for all. Perhaps it will only help one or two people who can't sleep at night and need to feel they are doing something to help their illness.

As I said before just hearing the genuine laughter in the class feels healing for me as a bedbound/homebound person who is very isolated from the rest of the world.

Blessings to all with your journey to healing:)

I don't want to be negative because Tom Tam has helped many, but he was not able to help my daughter whatsoever.

We saw Tom Tam himself for a private visit. He did tapping for her headache and Lyme as well as acupuncture. We went for at least 6 separate visits, none gave any relief whatsoever (but I like to try something for at least 6 weeks, just in case there is a delayed response.)

He was very friendly and came highly recommended to us by a friend (who is also a chiropractor). This friend took his son to him, and apparently all his son's allergies and asthma symptoms were relieved.

Now we've never attended one of his "guinea pig" events--so perhaps it works better in a large group with lots of tappers--but for us, he wasn't able to offer any relief to her.

(FYI: While we were in the waiting area, a patient was raving about how he had cured his cancer! So, it obviously works for some! And maybe only in the guinea pig sessions versus one-on-one?)

I truly hope he is able to bring you relief--do not give up hope (you obviously witnessed much success at these sessions)--

so definitely continue to attend, and please post with an update--

Based on what you wrote, I may have to take her to one of the group sessions, just to again try..

jam.

Thank you for posting this and your thoughtfulness in trying to help others. I am very familiar with energy medicine like acupuncture and Reiki.

It sounds like Tong Ren is along the same lines. There is so much we don't know and should be open to. Nothing to lose and possibly much to gain.

Thanks Again,

Gael

AMOMWITHHOPE, I am so sorry your daughter didn't get relief. I would say defiitely try the guinea pig class because from I can tell from the online classes and the book that came with my kit...it all works on collective consciousness which strengthens "the intention" on various points. So the more tappers the better. Even the more watchers online whose intent is being "shared in" to the collective consciousness.

I know this sounds so Startrecky....expecting to see Dr Spock and Bones any time now.

I have never been a particularly "woo woo" person but have an open mind about things. After what I saw for myself in the classes here I am a believer that something happens though I can't explain what it is.

Hope you take your daughter to the Guinea Pig class and see if that helps more. It takes time. In one of the online classes they said at least 2 months of regular attendance I think.

glm1111, yes it is exactly that --- Energy Medicine oriented. What Tom Tam has done (if I understand it right) is he has blended Energy Medicine, Collective Consciousness, and the Meridian Points. Having the group focus energy intent on specific meridian points for each disease/disorder. There is long list of disorders in his book(s) with several meridian points listed for each condition, and you just tap out for those points. Tapping on the purchased doll or on any freely printed out meridian point chart online.

There is also a battery operated laser point device they use where they will point that at certain areas on the doll in some cases. Not sure why on some and not on others.

For those who have done or interested in the Bionic 880 treatment, it is interesting that this laser point device is 650nw, but is used for a longer time (on the doll) than the 880nw is used on the body.

Thinking WAYYYYYYYYYYY outside the box here....butterfly net style........I am wondering about using the doll/laser and pointing it at the points DrW uses in Germany with the 880.

The TongRen kit with the doll, hammer, healing book, and infrared red light laser device is about $150...vs many thousands to go to Germany. Not saying it is the same thing. It isn't. But for those who could never ever go to Germany but could perhaps afford a TongRen kit thing.

Also, another option to consider there, which likely be put on a separate thread, but I stumbled across online where Walmart.com has a handheld infrared light device with 650nw for $40 used to improve skin conditions. There is no variability setting on percentage...it is just off/on. But, I have been using it and holding on the points that has been stated that DrW uses. I figure it can't hurt me.

If nothing else, my skin looks better! Well worth the $40 just for that as it has slowly helped with my skin cancer. And, it has helped with blotchiness and lines...seriously!
