I just got my Igenex Babs test results back. I've been treated for Lyme and Bart for a year, and I still have some symptoms that haven't improved AT ALL. I've also developed air hunger, which prompted the babs test. Before Lyme diagnosis, when I was my sickest, I had lots of night sweats.

Why do we assume that any testing will give us answers. We know that the tests are a 50 50 shot of coming up positive. I thought we just have to treat the symptoms till they are gone.

My Babesia Igenex test was also 1:20, and that is considered equivocal. My LLMD said that was enough to treat, and that is where we started.

The reason we tested is because the shortness of breath was inexplicable and we weren't sure if it was GI related or possibly Babs. I'm not all that symptomatic for Babesia, but with a 1:20 titer, I think we will likely treat to see if it makes a difference.

You may be surprised how many symptoms are babesia-related.
I have had huge improvement from treating babesia, now for almost a year. Most of my symptoms have turned out to be from babesia.

I do not have a positive test for Babesia. I have used Babs meds and noticed big improvement with my "brain fog."

I talked to the nurse this afternoon, and she said my doc said not going to treat based on the one 1:20 equivocal response. I have air hunger and am constantly woozy. I have seen dramatic improvement in other symptoms, so I just feel like this is something else. I'm really hoping we can at least try babs treatment to see if it helps.

I also have a negative babs test, but I have air hunger that for some reason has worsened over the past couple weeks--I had been doing enormously better up till then.
I started artemisinin to see if there's any difference, because I'm allergic to the babs abx, and we weren't sure what else to do.
The artemisinin seemed to stir something up, and I started having anxiety along with the air hunger.
I stopped the art for a day or so, and things didn't seem to get any better or worse. I'm back on it now, we'll see what happens.
