I'm not taking any flu vaccines this year. I got the regular one last year, but not the H1N1 b/c I didn't qualify to get one. I got the H1N1 flu instead.
Since I'm electing to not get the vaccine, nor have my 10yo son get it, I'm choosing to try to "up" our immune systems.
My son has asthma, so I worry tremendously about him getting the flu (or anything else for that matter). Currently I'm having him supplement with 1000 iu of D3 daily. He also takes a good multivitamin. I'm considering adding extra C to this.
How much D3 for kids? How much C?

Here's the website for Dr. Mayor Eisenstein. He's a pediatrition who doesn't vaccinate and does supp with D3. He has NO autism in his kids and 1 case of asthma (after decades as a doc). I'm pretty sure he's got D3 dosage info on the website. If the dosage info isn't there, let me know. My husband went to a seminar with him and I could probably track the info down in his notes somewhere.

As far as vit C goes, you can take as much as you want, up to bowel tolerance. You can take it several times a day. Lots of stuff on vit C here. http://www.doctoryourself.com/Posts: 707 | From Colorado | Registered: Jul 2010

Have you ever thought of doing homeopathy? I treat myself and my children with Boiron Influenzium 9. You do one pellet once a week for 3 weeks and then wait 4 weeks and do one more pellet.
I've done this through my MD/Homeopathic Dr. and it's worked like a charm now for 4 years straight.
You can order it through Homeopathy Overnite - it comes the next day.
Good luck!
p.s. - Homeopathic remedies are entirely safe for adults and children.

Thank you, thank you for your responses!! I guess I didn't word my title very well. I'm going to blame it on my Lyme brain.
I'm calling my son's dr tomorrow and requesting a test of his D levels. And I'm upping his C. I hate all these shots they terrify you into taking, and if it wasn't for this site I'd have likely gotten him another shot this year!
My grandson's pediatrician suspects Autism in him. And from the sx, it certainly appears that way. I still think there's a link between the vaccines these kids are required to get and the increase in autism. But that's just my opinion. It still scares me the things they want to vaccinate my son for.

From everything I have been reading this weekend, the vitamin D supplementing I have been giving my son could be slowing/inhibiting recovery from Lyme & cos. Read for yourself, for me, this makes since: http://bacteriality.com/about-the-mp/
If you do decide to get checked ask for BOTH tests: 1. vitamin d 1,25 (not usually tested for) 2. vitamin d2, d3 (when tested, most doctors test ONLY this one)
My LLMD just ordered these tests STAT for my son. I am waiting for the blood test results before I give him any more D3.
