I'm curious if Biaxin crosses the blood brain barrier. ive been told yes by some people and Ive been told no but others.
if it does cross , how much of a dose is necessary for it to cross?

What I have read is that the only macrolide that crosses the blood brain barrier is roxithromycin which you cannot buy in this country because it is not FDA approved. It has been used in Europe for a long time.

Not as well as it should. Roxithromycin, a drug we can't get in the US due to anticompetitive actions on the part of our pharm. corporations, does very well.

1. Did my lyme neuro. symptoms resolve and/or get significantly better on Biaxin? Yes, on 1000 mg.s a day for about 7 months then pulsing.
2. Does my LLMD believe that Biaxin crosses the BBB? Yes and I consider him to be very knowlegable!
