I have many symptoms but the worst has been, neck stiffness, pressure in inner ears, head pressure, feel naseau, basically feel like head is cement and sometimes feel like going to faint. I have had this the whole time on onset of all symptoms, forget the muscle and joint issue, this is the worst of it all, hard to function daily. With having confirmed Lyme diagnosis and not responding to antibotics (Amox) and found out allergic to Doxi, they are trying a new one, cefuroxime. Has anyone had these symptoms, how do you cope? It doesnt seem like I will ever get better. What antibotic or treatment worked for you? I would take the joint pain over this in a heartbeat. Thanks.

I have bad dizziness that doesn't seem to be touched by anything I've done. I've been on Minocycline, Doxycycline (both oral and IV), Levaquin, Biaxin, Bactrim, Amoxicillin, Plaquenil, Ceftriaxone, Zithromax, Rifampin...
I found that taking a low dose of Xanax can at least temporarily make the dizziness tolerable. There is something about that class of drugs that can interfere with the nerves in the inner ear. We've also discussed doing a patch behind my ear to see if that helps.
I often say that I would take any number of lingering symptoms over being dizzy all the time. It's really disabling.
-------------------- Lyme, Bart, possible Babs Currently on IV Doxy, Bactrim, Zithromax, Nystatin, Mepron Been on nearly every antibiotic since 10/09

I have the nausea, head pain, neck pain, feeling like my head does not fit well on my neck and dizziness. I have yet to find something that helps but I have only been on doxy, amox, ceftin, IV Rocephin, invanz, and tindamax (for a week because it was miserable for me).
I am going to try long term treatment the right way starting in Jan. I will let you know if I find something that helps. The nausea is the absolute worst for me..

A non lyme literate neurologist put me on low dose Valium (2mg) twice a day to combat the dizziness. He told me he had tons of little old ladies on the same treatment. It's such a tiny dose, its effects don't knock you out or anything. But it is a benzo, which are addictive.
It's the standard protocol for Meniere's, which at the time they deemed I had due to the tremendous ringing I had in my ears.
It shuts off the middle ear which often gets thrown out of whack causing the dizziness and nausea.
In my case the dizziness was so bad that if I moved my head, I vomited. I couldn't move, could barely walk without holding onto the walls, and couldnt drive.
This treatment was the difference between having a life and being trapped in bed 24/7
I'm not a doctor - just sharing my experience.

- Ginger capsules can be very effective to combat nausea, too. -
