I have been treating with minocycline and rifampin for 6 months and my symptoms have been gone for the last 2 months.
I have the Fry bug. I originally treated lyme with 6 months of doxy.
One month ago my llmd suggested that we start heparin to address bio films. I started slow and took a 5,000U B troche from Midwest Compounders once per day.
I had no remarkable response from 1 month treatment.
Yesterday I started taking two troche per day, twice the dose, after consulting with my llmd.
This morning I am experiencing burning sensations in my arms, legs, neck and shoulders.
Do you guys think this is a herx or a reaction to the heparin that I should be concerned about?
Thanks for your help.

I had a similar experience with lumbrokinase and flagyl !
flagyl has always been a good abx for me after doing two rounds of lumbrokinase I had two of the most brutal herx's ever !
I can only associate it with stripping off bio film as I did nothing else in between those cycles so I think heparin would do the same thing as both thin out the fibrin in the blood and reduce clotting !

Sounds like a herx, but I would check online about side effects of heparin just to ease your mind. I haven't taken heparin, but my fibrinogen level is somewhat high. I have been trying to take Boluoke lumbrokinase for the same problem (hypercoagulation, biofilms) but I herx on it pretty bad (while taking Biaxin & plaquenil). I finally started dividing the capsules and taking 1/2 dose, now up to 3 times a day but am dreading increasing that to where it should be.
Can you back off your dosage and increase it in smaller steps?

I did injectible heparin (YUCK! such a pain in the... butt!, literally!) for 10 days this summer. I'm SURE that it made me feel worse in some way- it felt like a major herx, and I really didn't have them at that point in my treatment. I have the Clongen bug that might be like the Fry bug (not that we really know about these things) and have had some hypercoagulation symptoms in the distant past. I had pushed one of my LLMD's to prescribe this treatment under similar theories as why you're on it, I'm guessing.
Anyway, I think it might have helped me turn a corner after all the misery wore off. I'd already been treating everything with a lot of antibiotics for a long time, so that might have been a coincidence.

Hum, does your bug create biofilm really? I mean if it resides in red blood cells, how can it crate biofilm?!!!!

after bombing the ketes with abx for a long enough time they can change into cyst form to protect themselves. they can also form a colony and clump together and cover themselves with bio film this is a self preservation thing for them !
Dr Mcdonald was doing heavy research into this but is now suffering from alzheimers disease ! they showed a great example of this in under our skin !
if you have not seen it please do its a good film for lymies.
