I'm getting ready to order some Cumanda for yeast... but please tell me if you've used Cumanda and it gave you acid reflux??

I'm worried about spending my money on it, only to find out I can't take it!!

Thanks!!! [Smile]

I'm not aware of that being useful in treating yeast overgrowth. I wouldn't buy it.

It did not cause reflux for me, and was pretty effective against Lyme - and maybe Bart

I thought it was also used for yeast?

For yeast, pau d'arco capsules are very helpful. Garlic, too.

Maybe different or more pre- & pro-biotics?

A big help for me - Candex. It's enzyme based. It eats the yeast so there is no die-off. You have to take on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. I leave it on my nightstand so I can swallow it down first thing in the morning. It's also okay to take with probiotics or antibiotics.

Good luck!
Tammy

Thanks, steve.. I'll go check it out.

Tammy, I wish I could take Candex but I'm VERY sensitive to garlic and vitamin C too.

You may want to try Yeast Cleanse by Solaray. It really worked well for me. Better than Diflucan.

If you have Lyme or an associated illness, cumanda can really make you herx. I was only able to tolerate 1 drop at a time & work it up from there.

It's quite strong. The Yeast Cleanse is very strong, too - but it's alot cheaper. Start off slow if you decide to try either one.

I'd love to, but it contains GSE. My acid reflux is too bad to even consider going there.

SIGH. I'm a mess.

Yeah, I know some people are very sensitive to GSE. How about caprillic acid? You can get that by itself. That can work well for yeast. Tea tree oil can be helpful, too.

GSE is known to be a cyst buster. It did make me have a herx-type reaction... I took it as being something positive.

My entire family of 5 is on it and it never caused reflux or pain. It does cause herxing, however.

Our practitioner uses it primarily for bart but we tested it on her EDS machine for lyme and it showed that it would eventually kill the lyme, but would take longer than Samento. I never checked it for effectiveness on candida, but I think I read that it can hit fungus, so I would think it is possible. It hits viruses to some extent according to testing on the EDS machine.

Candex doesn't contain garlic or vit. C.
Ingredients are all enzymes: Cellulase, Hemicellulase, Amylase, Invertase, Malt Diastase, Glucoamulase. All vegetarian.
Maybe worth a try.....

Take care,
Tammy

Tammy,
I'm curious, is it a big pill to swallow? Is it a capsule that could be put in applesauce or a tablet? Just wondering if my kids could take it. We all have yeast issues.
Thanks,

Oh - lymetoo - have you tried saccharomyces boulardi (Florastor is one brand)? It tests very well for killing yeast.

Are you serious!? You know, I think I heard that they changed the formula. I'll have to check with my ND. I know sometimes enyzmes can cause burning in the stomach also.

s.boulardi kills yeast? It IS a yeast! ( of a different type) I never heard that it killed anything though. I'll have to check that one out too!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saccharomyces_boulardii

(The last paragraph concerns me.)

I've been wondering about caprylic acid. Just the name itself makes me cringe.

I found this online> Can Children Use Candex?
Candex is safe for everyone. For children, use one-half capsule, twice daily, for each 40
pounds of body weight. For ages 14 and up, adult recommendations may be followed.

Here's the web-site

http://www.energeticnutrition.com/pure-essence/candex.html

Thanks.. very promising about both! [group hug]

oh wait... I can't take it with Nystatin and Diflucan. They will just kill the s.boulardi.

Found this on Candex:

"As with all things, individual results will vary. However, nearly everyone notes substantial improvements within one to four weeks. While die-off reactions generally do not occur with Candex, a few people may experience nausea, a burning sensation in the stomach, or abdominal cramping. This is because the enzymes may aggravate pre-existing disturbances in the gastro-intestinal tract. If this occurs, we suggest using one third of a capsule, twice daily, emptied into eight ounces of warm water, and building up from there. Using a bit of non-fiber foods (meat or dairy) may also help. To minimize any sensitivity to Candex, it is suggested to take one capsule your first day, two your second day, and so on, until you reach the full, four capsule per day regimen."

I'll have to go easy on it. I noticed they said something about it being around for 5 yrs. I was first introduced to it in 2000 and was unable to tolerate it. I think that particular formula may now be sold under another name.

Thanks! (That gal needs to get spell check if she is going to make money on a blog!! Good grief!!) [Big Grin]

Sure looks promising.

As for the s.boulardi... I haven't found anywhere that it says it kills yeast. Like I said, it IS a yeast.

Tick battler - the capsule is an average size.... like olive leaf extract, etc. If you have a problem swallowing, maybe try to open it and mix with water. I have no idea how it tastes though.

Cumanda DOES work on yeast. My LLMD and other doctors use it for that as well. Just google Cumanda Candida and you will see some stuff.

I use it and haven't had any problems with reflux from it.

Hope you figure out a solution!

The following is from a treatment protocol posted by nutrimedix said to be used by Dr. Cowden.

"CANDIDIASIS

Cause: Candida (many species) infection and sometimes a fungal overgrowth usually caused by
antibiotics, steroid medications, severe protracted stress, made worse by constipation, pesticide toxicity and heavy metal toxicity, especially mercury

Treatment:
Twice daily 30 min. before mealtimes take 30 drops of CUMANDA (start with one drop twice
daily slowly increasing the dose until reaching 30 drops twice daily) together with 15 drops of TRACE MINERALS-RELAX and 10 drops of PARSLEY DETOX..."
