Hello all. I have a vaginal infection and it cultured out as Candida Glabrata. Have tried several doses of diflucan and the creams. Nothing seems to help keep it away. Does anyone have any experience with this form of yeast and have any ideas on how to get rid of it? Thanks for any help. I appreciate it.

Most of the time cultures are run with sensitivity tests. The sensitivity test results might come in a few days after the culture results. That would help your doctor prescribe the most effective medication for your infection.

You have other antifungal options besides diflucan. A few that come to mind are Sporanox, Vfend, and Posiconazole. There are more. Your doctor should be aware of these also.

Are you following a good diet and all that??? You must cut out sugars and simple carbs or you won't make much progress.

Someone here suggested boric acid suppositories. I don't know much about it, but she was swearing by it. (do not ingest boric acid)

Also...someone suggested trying lactoferrin along with the Diflucan. I'm going to try that.

I don't have much trouble with vaginal yeast, but a big problem with the intestinal variety.

I'm taking VSL#3 DS, pau d'arco, olive leaf extract, Diflucan, and Nystatin. Sheesh.

Hope something here helps you!

A sensitivity is not normally done on yeast. Your doctor can call the lab and request it, though.

Boric acid suppositories work often when all else fails.

Kefir is great to drink as well. Plain w/o added sugar.
