I have almost always run a low temp, so I think maybe it's just low for me. I rarely run a fever (when my appendix ruptured, it was 99 degrees and I had a RAGING infection that almost killed me). But I've also read here others having a low body temp. Is there an explanation other than maybe thyroid?

Lyme, Bart, possible Babs
Currently on IV Doxy, Bactrim, Zithromax, Nystatin, Mepron
Been on nearly every antibiotic since 10/09

About 60% improvement. Dizziness, air hunger remain.

Lyme causes your body temperature to be low. It is killed by high temperatures. When lyme was the most active infection, my temp was 96.

But I have had a below average body temp all of my life. It might be connected to a slower metabolism but even when I began thyroid supplementation it did not go up.

As my normal temperature is around 97 degrees (or less) , my babesia temperature is actually normal 98.6. When I was at the doctor's office on one visit my temp was actually 99 which would be the same as 101 for a normal person. Doctor never caught it. That was when I was beginning to experience emergence of babesia.

so if our temperature goes to say 99 or over 100, then we're running a fever, right?

I tried fixing low body temp with Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome handling for two years--it would never resolve.

This was before I tested Lyme-positive, but after I had the bull's-eye rash.

Since I've been doing KPU and Allergie-Immun (early 2009), my temperature has come up some, but it is still not normal. On a good day, it will get up to 98.3 in the evening.

My body temp was NOT low earlier in life, so this was definitely something that "arrived."

Best,

Cass A

Randi- yes, I always consider 99 to be a fever for me.

My temp has actually been up to 98 with Mepron, so maybe that will help.
