Go Slowwwwww is my advice I had harsh reactions to art, which I'm sure means it was working but was scary!!

I am currently afraid to add it back in.

Good Luck!

Liver support is vital as artemisinin requires use of the Cytochrome P-450 liver detox pathway. Beta carotene rich foods help that pathway. Other good liver support, too, but don't push too hard "detox" methods. Be consistent but do not push too hard.

I'm just finishing day 10 of my artemsia and the past 8 days have been an absolute nightmare! The only thing I did different was to add artemsia. On Day 2 I started getting a "highish" fever chills, sweats and severe headache that continue to this day, although lessening. Its been just an awful 8 days. I now get 20 days off before starting back up again but I truly dread starting this again. I kept asking my doctor if this is ok and he kept reassuring me to keep going. Its been very unpleasant.

Artemesia is a bad word in my house. I have to take time off of work to take it because it knocks me down and I fever. My youngest gets his but kicked on artemesia and has yet to do the full dosage. I love the fact that it is working. We only take it 10 days a month and take the pill form from Zhang.
Ang- sorry to hear you have had such a bad week!

I would definitely pulse it. I've heard several different options - from 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. to 3 days on, 4 days off. Either way you don't want babs to develop a resistance to it.

Not everyone has a horrible reaction. Try not to program yourself into believing it's going to knock you off your feet (especially after some of these responses:). I think it's really important to not expect it to hit you hard. Plant the seed in your head that you are going to be fine with it. Start slow.

Good luck Paul. I have been thinking of you. I remember your posts a few weeks back when you were concerned about adding Flagyl. Has it been a help to you? I hope so!!

Take care,
Tammy

Take it as your llmd prescribed it. A herx and how severe it is can tell you and your llmd where you are at with the infection.

If you pulse it this may not be as clear.

Not sure how many are using Dr. Zhang's formula. The new Artemisia 2 Capsule. Its active ingredient is Dihydroartemisinin (DHA), a derivertive of artemisinin. It is a front line anti-malaria agent and has been effectively used for millions of malaria cases. It is much stronger than artemisinin.

Artemesia and artemisinin are not the same thing.

Artemsisin should be taken with grapefruit juice, otherwise a resistance develops.

If grapefruit juice is not tolerated then it should be taken three weeks on and one week off.
