For people that have pains in their joints, ligaments, and tendons...

What do you feel like is physically happening in your hand joints?

I feel sort of like the bones are becoming more "boney" and the tendons and surrounding ligaments are swollen. When I say they feel like they are becoming more boney I mean it feels like the knuckles have inflammation around them and the bones seem to protrude out more as if they are growing. Maybe the tissue around the bones is decreasing making the bones seem more boney. I'm not sure.

It also feels like there is pain on the bones. If I push down on something with my fingertips there will be pain on the fingertip bone. Basically any of my bones feel like this. Some areas are tender like a bruise. I don't see how people attach photos to these posts but I'd draw a picture to illustrate where my pains are if I could.

I'm concerned about how far it's going to go. Will it at some point settle down and get better? Will it progressively get worse until I'm crippled? It's been 6 months now and I can't say I've improved.

I know some people say they have had the "arthritis" symptoms like this and that they got better. I've got to try to keep some hope alive that it will get better. Thinking that you'll have to deal with these symptoms or worse FOREVER is mighty depressing.

I should mention that I still have the daily headaches. They haven't stopped since my original symptoms started.

Thanks,

WG

It may take quite awhile before you see any real results because of the herxing you are probably doing right now.

About those headaches... Rifampin gave me the most horrible headache I've ever had and I have a long history of migraines.

It was awful.. so keep that in mind. It may be the reason you are still having them.

Also.. You may have undiagnosed Babesia, which requires different medications. Babesia causes terrible headaches.

I think adding babesia meds to what I'm currently taking might be an overload on my body. I don't see how people effectively treat co-infections because you probably can't hit them all simultaneously. Seems like you'd have to leave at least one co-infection untreated where it could run rampant.

My son has the all over... feel like a train ran over you feeling. I believe it is a glutathione deficiency caused by a zinc deficiency... which will also cause a stomach acid deficiency.

Look closely at KPU/HPU. http://www.publichealthalert.org/pdf/2010_05.pdf

I had the all over, feel like you've been hit by a truck feeling for 9 years. I have bart, babs and lyme. IM ceftriaxone (generic rocephin) for a little over 6 months took the pain down by 70%! That was incredible because I never thought it would go away.

I probably need IV to finish the job. Several years after IM I can tell the pain is increasing again even though I've been on orals the whole time.

My doctor mentioned that I had high markers for pain based on high kynurenine levels which as far as I can tell were caused by disordered tryptophan. Instead of making serotonin, my body was making toxins like quinolinic acid and kynurenine. My thought (and I could be wrong) is that the IM was able to penetrate the brain.

I've always thought it was bartonella that caused the bone pain but I'm sure other TBI's are capable of causing it.

J Infect. 2006 Nov 28;
Bone infection in cat-scratch disease: A review of the literature.

RESULTS: Cases of 47 patients were reviewed. The median age was 9years, with an equal sex distribution. Bone pain and fever were the main symptoms....

READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE PLEASE - it states this is rare but I've seen many with bart complain of bone pain.

I wonder if some of the bone pain when you press might actually be the ligament. Ligaments connect bone to bone. Tendons connect muscle to bone.

I have stretchy ligaments. I broke and dislocated my finger and it has been a nightmare because of the abnormalities in my ligaments and tendons. I may end up with a fused finger that cannot be bent at all according to one doctor.

I was told by the rehab person that they could safely bend my finger as far as it would go. There would be NO damage from it. The rehab person bent my finger too far and stretched the ligament. I think most people's ligaments would not allow the finger to be bent that far. That incident changed the whole outcome for my finger. I had to have another surgery and will have even more limited use of my finger if any use at all because of it.

I keep telling them (the doctor and rehab person) that my muscles, tendons and ligaments are not normal and cannot be treated the same way as normal people. As soon as the pins come out I will be back in rehab only this time I will be setting limits on how much I am willing to let them bend my finger.

I got rid of all of the bone pain and arthritis with antiparasitic herbs and salt/c. Infection/inflammation/parasites attack the joints and can cause these symptoms.

I had little scabs form around my wrists joints and they turned out to be parasites, so this is not a supposition or a guess. Check into treating parasites/worms. Lots of info on this here at lymenet.

For problem spots/neck-hands, you can try rubbing whole lemon on them and ginger root too.

You can make a poltice from each, if you feel like it, or just rub on. I never mixed together--I was experimenting...

I like them both and have used both at the same time...

I alternated both and in the Espoms soaks.

I was afraid to take anything, because I had lived on Tylenol ect. for over a yr....

Make sure you're not vitamin D deficient as one of the classic signs of this is "bone pain"...meaning your bones will actually hurt when you press down on them...Google this and you will find lots of info....
