I've only begun treatment about two weeks ago.

Everything has been going well in regards to my GI tract.

I have only been taking my Zithromax for about a week-low dose once daily.

My supplements and Probiotics for two weeks. I take Vit D3, Biotin, Krill Oil, CoQ10 Ubiquinol, R-Lipoic Acid, chelated Magnesium.

My bm's have actually improved since taking all of the above.

The only change I made is for the past two days I have taken 2 Ester C tablets instead of just one. My bm's this morning were a bit looser.
About two hours after lunch and my 2nd dose of Ester C I had diarrhea which I had to take two doses of Immodium because I had to work my evening job.

I am hoping it is the Ester C causing this. I have read it can. I've also read magnesium can as well, but I've been taking the same 4 magnesium pills (400mgs total) daily-no changes there.

Any input would be most appreciated. This is one side effect I cannot deal with.

Thanks

I am taking 2000 ester C with no problems. I would look elsewhere. My diarrhea always came back when I stopped my meds for any reason....So maybe the zith is not doing it for you...

I don't know... for me it would be the Ester C. I don't tolerate C for many reasons.

I feel for you one4islands, I started abx just a month ago. Was doing fine on Zith and Amoxycillin, Started the Flagyl five days ago and have had diarhea every day since. I don't take Ester C so can't speak for that.

I read that you should not take Immodium when on ABX. Any feedback on that?

I'm taking one 400mg softgel (nature made) per day, but am switching soon to Natural Vitality.
I've been taking this one 400 mg softgel for a month with no problems...

The only way you will know what is causing it is through trial and error. If the diarrhea started immediately after the increase in Vit C I would reduce Vit C and see if it resolves. Wait several days to a week. If that doesn't resolve it then cut your magnesium etc.. Your LLMD should be able to help you figure it out.

Good luck,
Terry

I can't say that I know anything specific about Ester C, But I've taken Vitamin C most of my life from being so sick. There are two things to look for in vit C to help the runs and heartburn as well as effectiveness.

1. It should have rose hips
2. It should be time released
