Herxing...good/bad...new symptoms or resurrection/worsening of current ones?
I would love to hear thoughts on this...
Although I don't think that I have really ever herxed (and, unfortunately, I am not getting any better either! ), I have a few questions about it...
*Should everyone herx? If not, shouldn't there be some sort of improvement? It just seems that a constant worsening of symptoms or status quo for months, is not "herxing" but rather disease progression.
*Is herxing supposed to be worsening of current symptoms or the resurrection of old onesor could it also be the emergence of new ones?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I am getting new symptoms here and there too.
I think it's just that as the Lyme is being cleaned out, you hit spirochetes that are responsible for different symptoms....?? or am I dreaming??
triathlete.. You might want to make sure you don't have yeast/candida because it can cause joint pain too.

I think it's really important not to blame everything on herxing. It could be that the drug combo you are using isn't working and your disease is, in fact, progressing.
I honestly wouldn't stay on meds that were making me worse.

Treating Lyme is like stirring up a hornets' nest. Borrelia are under attack and they move around. I myself had definite herxes, severe worsening of symptoms, indicative of a die-off of bugs.
Some people herx so severely they end up in the hospital. It would make sense that some patients are at the other end of the spectrum - they just have a slight but steady worsening of their symptoms.
It could be that the borrelia have sequesterd into biofilm colonies and are not really dying off. Try adding Wobenzym-N to dissolve biofilm. But start this slowly and carefully. Some have ended up very sick from herxes precipitated by Wobenzym.
