Just wondering I have finished my Doxy and am now on Ceftin. I don't feel like it is doing anything just like the Doxy. I am sugar free, gluten free, detoxing, losing weight, and have a little energy. But I don't feel like it is working because I have read that everyone feels worse before they feel better. Am I just not on the right antibiotic or what? My doctor doesn't normally use IV but do pills sometimes not work? I thought I would be feeling these things dying and that is what causes a reaction/herx? I do feel a little better but I am on hormones and vitamins too. [confused]

Not everyone herxes. Sometimes a combination therapy works better. Do you have any coinfections?

with little herxing I have made progress after three years of neurolyme and until early August, undiagnosed bartonella .

Even with a second acute bite this summer....with the ER rash, fever chills heart palpitations and much junk on top of what I already had.

and mainly progressing forward in stages and cycles...feeling a bit worse than the current usual during parts of the cycle but not all that.

I got a big leap feeling better when I got adrenal support.

so it does not always happen that way with big herxes.
though it does for many.

LLND prepared me that herxing might roll me back, way back symptomatically, back to paralzyed as at the beginning which I am not now

but I am blessed that has not happened.

there can be reasons that can interfere with antibiotics working but I can't speak effectively to that. It has to do with genetics and detoxing certain ways first.

Hopefully some of the folks who know about that will respond. I am relatively new to all this massive information myself.

My LND thinks herxing is too hard on t he body and tries to avoid or minimize it.

Of course that can be hard to do depending on what you got, your infection load, the type of treatment and all sorts of variables.

I dont know if i have coinfections. For some reason my doc didn't test me for them even though i have all the symptoms of bart. I just thought i would feel something when these nasty things start dying. Thanks though for your replies
