I have a friend in the hospital, just diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Distrophy. I know Lyme can commonly be misdiagnosed as ALS, MS and such. How about Muscular Distrophy? The symptoms seem to be quite similar. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Yes, I have a friend who was first told she had parkinsons, then muscilar distrophy, then tested positive for Lyme. She's in treatment now for Lyme, still really sick.
Make sure your friend gets tested.
God Bless you and your Friend

I have a friend, his son died from muscular distrophy at 18 - it is 15 years ago. Mayo told them it is a genetic disaese and he had two defect genes, his brother has only one and it can be tested during pregnancy.
The child had clear babesia symptoms like weak muscles and could not walk stairs after he was three years old. Before you posted I always asked myself, if he could have had lyme.
But what did Mayo see on the genes? And he had no brain involvment at all, was very intelligent, even happy, never sick.
I only saw lyme and MS patients with memory problems and looking fatigued and sick.

A "rare" form of it? What exactly does that mean.
Like the symptoms are a bit abnormal for typical muscular dystrophy? or it seems to be a more severe type of muscular dystrophy?
if it doesnt fit the usual prescence of muscular dystrophy then it really really could be lyme.
either way he needs to get tested. I think anyone with symptoms of any muscular issues should get checked

The person in the case study said they used liberal amounts of sea salt on their food along with drinking 2 quarts of water a day.
I would suspect that it was the addition of the sea salt that was alleviating the symptoms since sea salt is antibacterial and antiparasitic.
