My LLMD recently prescribed Adderall in the hopes that it will help me concentrate and focus better at work so I don't get in trouble.
I took it Friday the first time. I was bouncing off the walls for many hours, and got a horrid headache. I'm on 15 mg 1x/day.
If you've taken it, did you get used to it with continued use? I loved feeling like I had enough energy to do what I needed to do, but that headache and the fact that it lasted well into the evening scared me.
Thanks for any responses.

Denise- I predict you are really going to take a beating with this post.So many on this board are very against this type of coping drug.
I have taken this med.I didn't have any headache, but it did help me think more clearly, finish tasks, and make it through the day....and keep my job.

No beating from me. I took adderrrall for many years to help with depression and brain fog. I was able to stop it very easily several times. It was a life saver for me when i couldn't think.
Denise,
You might want to start with 1/2 tab until you get used to it, then you can increase it. Don't take it to late in the day so it won't interfere with your sleep.

Guess I don't care if I get a beating. I can't afford to lose my job and if this helps me stay employed, so be it.
I didn't take it today, and now I'm regretting it.

Denise,
It's still early enough, and if you have it with you, take 1/4 of a tablet to help get you through the day. I always step lightly into a new med.

Interesting-- back when I first started getting sick I thought about taking adderal. Does it not make you more sick later? Like robbing Peter to pay Paul? Meaning do you feel really crappy later for using all your energy?
I would think to just use a smaller dose and work up. Maybe do half and wait a few hours then do another half if you feel ok.
Don't feel guilty about taking it-- do what you gotta do! Life is hard enough for us, but make sure you also think long term.
