Had headache and eye pain last night. Woke up with red eyes and a bit puffy around eye. Eye Dr says inflamation possible from infection.
Gave me Tobradex which is a steroid/antibiotic Is this OK to take?

I would say no.
Dexamethasone (the "dex" part of Tobradex") is a very, very powerful steroid. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant.
Not good.
When my son was put on steroids (prednisone) he had whole body convulsions, seizures and would fall down a lot. If it were me, I would ask for something else.
