Hey,

since im sick (2004)....i always feel better at night. I don't get it. Even before it took hormones for my thyroid, i just felt better when it was late. In the middle of the day i never feel as good as in the middle of the night (2-4am)

It's sometimes like somethings cleaning up but it does not take any longer as a few hours [loco]

My sleep-wake rhythm is also pretty strange. I'm often not tired when it's night or i can't sleep which causes some very serious sleep problems. But sometimes i even feel better if i sleep that late.

Is that a hormone problem or something like that or lyme/co related? I don't get it. It sometimes get some really strange "ups" when it's night. If i don't sleep, i just feel super bad.

Hey,

I'm only responding to let you know you're not alone. I don't have any answers for this, but experience the same thing.

My opinion has lead me to believe it could be adrenal & hormone related. I also have an intolerance to histamine, and intolerance to what seems like any beneficial supplements to support the HPA, thyroid and adrenals.

I'm planning to have my adrenal hormone levels checked next month. Give me a shout if you can remember (unfortunately, I probably won't), and maybe I can give you some insight.

Anyways, most often I feel best during the evening, and I never want to sleep when I first get tired. Also, I don't know about you, but if I sleep less than a good 7 hours, I'm a mess the next day -- my symptoms exacerbate; dry skin, tingling and numbness, confusion, fatigue.

Strange.

I experience exactly the same as you!

I was at my thyroid doctor today. she checked everything. my throid is too small and it feels inflamed at the moment, even though it's not visible on the ultrasonic. it's only visible that it's far too small. i'm taking hormones since years and she believe that it's adrenal related and/or im on a too low dosage. as far as i know my TSH... too high.

do you have "confirmed" lyme? if i sleep less than 7 hours im too totally crapped out. i need at least 7 hours, better 8-9.

after the ABX my histamine went from rather okay to a very crappy level, maybe because of the yeast that the ABX were causing.

my main symptoms are fatigue, exhaustion from one moment to another, neuro problems and confusion. tingling is also a part of it.

I feel my best late at night also... crazy...

any time after sleeping is by far the worst time for me... even just a nap.

I will stiffen up after just an hour or so of sleep, feet will feel like walking on glass.....

Energyman,

My Lyme test was equivocal, but I'm positive for Bartonella and Babesia WA-1.

I had Lyme symptoms of joint & neck pain in the past, and when I was on Flagyl, felt a burst of those symptoms. I'm pretty sure I have Lyme.

What treatment have you done for Bartonella. I'm experiencing something interesting. I went off Rifampin 2 days ago, and some nerve stuff is returning right away. But, I woke up and had some unusual histamine marks on my skin, as well as the swelling around my ankle which was gone.

Not sure what to make of all this yet.

my tests are always not clear. i'm from germany and i did some tests @ igenex labs. i'm waiting for results but i tested for barts and lyme.

where did you test you blood?

roger1700 i also feel best at late night. it's strange.

i also have hashimoto and i'm still not sure what causes all my problems but i suspect lyme and coinfections.

did some ABX about 7 months but only mono therapies with some herbs and i only got rid of the stiff neck. the fatigue remained. i still feel like crap. most doctors here are pretty crappy, they say it don't have lyme but i have some positive tests (called LTT/Elispot) and and low CD57s and a lot of symptoms.... much neuro stuff, they suspected ms ...

Energyman,

I'd be interested to hear a result from a hemobartonella test by Fry Labs. That's a positive for me.

Late night cortisol spikes that surge energy of various kinds are common with lyme, but not a good thing. LLMDs know all about this. Be sure your LLMD knows the extent of this.

Also realize that the NMDA hyper-excitatory problems with lyme cause late night hyper-thinking, so to speak. MAGNESIUM is the very best helper to calm that down.

Chronic stress from infection damages the HPA axis. More about that here:
----------

This book is specific to lyme and other chronic stealth infections. The author discusses the endocrine connection and effects of STRESS on a person with such infections. You can read customer reviews and look inside the book at this link to its page at Amazon.

==================

Remember that lyme really messes up the HPA axis (Hypothalamus/pituitary/adrenal network). The pituitary has much to do with weight/growth. Mess up any part of the endocrine system and other parts suffer, too.

Yep, I second everything that Keebler just said. I also found that I would get very hungry at night, which seems to be related to cortisol spikes (there's a connection between the two). I felt much better after I started to do adrenal support and to work on lowering my nighttime cortisol.

Energyman,

Curious, do you have any problems with your sinuses? Inflammation or occasional bleeding? What type of allergies do you deal with?

Thank you for the links Keebler!
Wolfed Out i experience inflammation in the middle of the day, for the most times. I deal with food allergies and histamine intolerances. What kind of problems do you deal with?

MariaA how did you support your adrenals?

I should mention i also have hashimoto disease. It's sometimes responsible for weak adrenals. I also have low FT3 and my TSH is too high [Frown]
