First thanks to everyone who has helped me out and responded on this board so far! I have 3 questions....
I'm two weeks into treatment for bart with clarithromycin and have developed a yeast infection.
I've been prescribed diflucan but am wondering in your opinion should I wait until the last week of treatment (I'm only on this treatment for a month) to take it...thus possibly avoiding a second round of infection?
SECOND..I have a bad feeling the treatment won't work (when does one month of clarithromycin clear anything?)...I definitely don't feel better and am in fact feel a little worse and am experiencing some symptoms of bart I hadn't before...rash and tingly feet. Is this what they call herxing...I thought that was supposed to happen in the very beginning of treatment?
THIRD..if in fact the treatment doesn't work and I need longer term help I'm trying to get in the sugar-free diet mindset. Lots of negativity around artificial sweeteners other than stevia and I understand this. I have tried a few things with maltitol and don't plan on using that as a substitute unless I really need a chocolate bad. But do artificial sweeteners such as maltitol promote yeast? Is there medical "proof" of this because I can't find anything.....
Thanks everyone for your comments...
