About 7 mos. ago, I too was at a point where I started feeling good, able to go to the gym twice a week, do my own gardening and chores. then my LLMD put me on Mepron and whoaaaaaa.......It would have been easy to think I was relapsing, but I know it was major herxing.

The Mepron was hitting bugs, perhaps babesia, perhaps intracellular and cyst forms of Borrelia, and the herxing felt like a deep ache in my bones, spine, neck. Like the flu, but without an obvious fever. Then I got night chills every night. And for the first time, night sweats.

I do think Mepron kills bugs dead, and kills lots of them. I recommend it. Seven months later and herxes are very mild. Will continue mepron for a few more months.

I do not know why it is so expensive, like $1,000 a bottle. I call it "liquid gold", b/c of the cost and the color, fluorescent yellow.

It is terribly expensive. You can order it from candadrugs.com for 675 including shipping. But they insist they have to send it regular mail. I ordered mine three weeks ago and it still is not here. If it freezes during shipment, it is ruined so I am worried.

Check around like Wal Mart or Wallgreens. Someone posted they are getting it from wallgreens for less than $800 a bottle. I pay 1052 at Costco.

I hope you continue to feel better. I have been on it four weeks and that is how long it takes to build up in your system. Not such a great week.

You aren't staying on the Biaxin with the Mepron? Are you taking Zithromax with the Mepron? Either are fine, but to prevent resistance, a macrolide is usually prescribed.

Mepron was a great drug for me .... so was Biaxin .... zith, not so much.

Thanks for all your input.Liquid gold is the truth,im lucky I still drag myself to work to keep insurance,I pay 75.00 A bottle, but the price is ridiculous.

I have been told to stop Biaxin, just Doxy will continue twice a day along with Attenolol(heart pill).

Is Milk thistle important or any other supplements should I know about. Not sure about a
Macrolide dont even know what it is.

WEll Happy New Year Everyone!

jac123: Supplements I recommend: NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) for detox.

Flavenzym (cheaper version of Wobenzym-N) available from Vitacost. These are enzymes which dissolve biofilm allowing Mepron and antibiotics to penetrate borrelia colonies. This stuff WORKS. But you will herx bad. Start gradually, take on empty stomach with cold water, they are enteric coated. I've worked up to 15 tabs/day. I take for a couple weeks till I can't stand the herxes and then stop for a few weeks to heal and detox.

Probiotics every morning.

Magnesium.

Vit D3.

Samento and Banderol (Nutramedix). I've just started these. There is good science behind these.
