I was taking Nystatin 3x per day as a preventive against yeast; although I have been on antibiotics for 9 months and have not, so far, had a yeast problem.
The nystatin made me VERY nauseous so I called my LLMD and asked if I could stop taking it. He said ok; that was 2 days ago.
Still feel some nauseousness but not like when I was on Nystatin. ps.. it also upset my bowels; not so much as far as diarrhea but had gas and stomach cramps.
I would suggest you ask your doctor if you can stop taking it for a few days and see if you feel better....
All and all Nystatin made me feel worse than all the multiple antibiotics I am taking!

No problem with Nystatin, but I found that Magnesium was my problem. Stopped the magnesium and diahrea disappeared.
If you are taking Magnesium try taking a few days off and see if that helps. Take care and good luck...!

Diahrea is listed as a possible side effect of nystatin. But it's so tricky when your on multiple meds. It's so easy to get your bowels out of whack, and difficult to say for sure whats causing it.
