I have been on Clindamycin IV for three months for the treatment of Babesia. Some days when I take my morning dose, I will get intense flashes in my eyes for 20 minutes followed by a headache. some days the headaches are worse then others and it is almost always accompanied with eye pressure, like someone is pushing on the back of my eye balls. I want to know if this is a side effect of the medicine or not? Also how long should the treatment for Babesia be? I am also being treated for Lyme with Doxy IV for the same amount of time. But the flashes in the eyes start almost immeadiately after starting the Clindamycin and not the Doxy. And there is no pattern as to when they will come? Any answers would help greatly, Thanks

I've never had this, but any medication that is consistently doing that should be questioned. It seems to be a side effect of the medication and you really should discuss that with your doctor.

I agree, you should talk with your doctor about the eye and head symptoms.
If they think that you should continue on the Clinda see if you can slow the rate of your infusions. If that doesn't help then ask the pharmacy to dilute the med more. These might help reduce your symptoms.
Hang in there. Babesia may take awhile to treat, at least several months. You may also have to try a few meds before you find the right one/s for your infection.
