Currently my daughter is treating Lyme & co. with Zithromax, minocycline, zoloft (anxiety), flexeril and 10 days per month of tindamax. She got a second degree burn on her leg a week ago.
Obviously I was concerned but not overly concerned. She has been away for a few days and just returned home today. I think it looks infected (red around the burn itself, warm to the touch and she says it hurts pretty bad.
A few questions I have...does anyone know if it will take her burn longer to heal than normal because of the Lyme. Also how can it get infected with all the antibiotics that she is on.
I'm worried...it doesn't look so good. I'll call the dr tomorrow but wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge of this.

Do take her to see the doctor today. The burn area can easily become infected. If it appears to be infected the doctor will want to run a culture and sensitivity to see what antibiotic will be best to treat the new infection.
The doctor should also evaluate the state of the burn and teach you how to take care of it so that it can heal properly.

Definatly go to the dr. Those antibiotics do not cover staph well and bacteria that is present on the skin. She will need something else if it is infected.

Thanks everyone. We went to the dr and he thinks it looks good and it isn't infected...thank goodness. We have the burn cream and neosporin that we should keep applying as we have been, but the dr said it is on its way to healing.
