Im on doxy, but started bactrim DS on saturday. since then, i have been feeling 10 times more chest pains and stings than ever, and air hunger comes in waves that are horrible. also im expelling white mucus from my mouth(sorry) and am having a relapse of anxiety symptoms, insomnia, and a strange tightness at the base of my throat/neck that lasts for maybe 30 min to 1 hr.
Some nausea, hot flashes, and i cant stop crying. i feel like im going to die, i feel like i WANT to die.
is this a herx or a reaction to the med? I took bactrim twice a day for almost 5 months last year with no problems at all so im just confused.

Sounds like Babs/parasites to me.

There is a recent thread on whether Babs must be treated first before Lyme can be successfully treated.
Currently, my son is taking Detoxosode & Parastroy... while treating HPU.
He has worked up to all three and did not start with all 3 at once.
My son tried Mepron & Azith - too harsh for him.
I suggest consulting with your LLMD...
I am doing Parastroy alone.
We both are detoxing big time... lots of herxing and babs/ parasites are mean to me. My son is not well either.
There are a lot of threads recently on treating parasites... not a one size fits all treatment.

I really don't think you have to suffer that much, herx or not, in order to get better! If it means backing off or lowering the dose or even changing meds, I would suggest you ask your doctor. Remember that even herxes can cause damage.
