I don't seem to have any noticable Candida issues and am currently taking Theralac and Saccharomyces Boullardi both once a day.

Do those who are taking Theralac take it everyday or follow the regimen suggested where you take 1 pill a day for two weeks and then 2 pills a week from there on.

My LLMD had me take it daily. I think if you weren't on abx the suggested regimen might be sufficient.

everyday at bedtime works best.

yea everyday when your on antibiotics

if there theralac is getting expensive for you you can take 2 PB8 Capsuls they contain the same stuff as theralac for 11 dollars a month

it has enough time to work while you sleep.

Daily. You can even ask the Theralac people and they will say that.

Daily or maybe even two a day.

I'll repeat.. PB8 is virtually worthless. Definitely not enough CFU's unless you take 10-15 a day.

I've been doing one a day.

I think there is such a think as too many probiotics, and it's different for everyone.

I noticed i got out of whack when i was taking 4 capsules daily (of 3 different bands/types as per my ilads doc)

Now i only take one of them (whichever is handy) once a day.

Keeps me totally regular, no issues. Although i'm only on one med - omnicef.

As I feel like yeast overgrowth is always just a minute away, I am doing pretty much the same type of protocol -- high quantity and lots of variety -- as Randibear, but perhaps just a bit less on the quantity side. I'm only on Amoxicillin, but my doctor told me that we need at least 100 billion CFUs per day to keep away the yeast overgrowth. I also take Prescript-Assist Pro from Researched Nutritionals, since it's got some different varieties of bacteria. There are so many billions of bacteria in our gut, probably many of which we don't even know about. So, I figure we need to replace as much as possible, and even with that variety and quantity, it probably doesn't really simulate what's normal for the gut.

Do folks feel that Theralac or VSL#3 is more potent/helpful?

We really know so little about the body and the microbiome.

well i've heard that some of what i'm taking is useless, so i've got to use it up.

i'll probably drop the sf8 and pearls.

cause, yeah, it's getting expensive. i'd rather take one or two really good ones and would probably spend the same amount, but since i've got them, i'll use them up.

and with my system tho, better safe than sorry.

but so far i haven't had any yeast problems and i'm notorious for getting bad thrush and candida, so something must be working. flagy is really bad for causing yeast and i'm taking 500 twice a day.
