I have been away from this group for awhile. Been really bad off for a few years, finally surgery for severe adhesions in abdomen 5 weeks ago, won't bore you with the details.

But I have had 2 well-known Lyme docs and two other docs tell me that Lyme is what necessitated the 4 surgeries (pelvic/abdominal) I have had since having Lyme et al for 12 years now. I of course need to question the docs more thoroughly and will do that and I certainly understand the role of inflammation and that the bugs go to wherever you are weakest...

... but can anyone explain in more detail how having Lyme creates such problems with organs that causes the need for surgery, and anyone else have surgeries they think were caused by Lyme?

thanks,
Robin

I had my uterus and left ovary removed for what I believed was a return of severe endometriosis, but no endo was found this time. Then severe increase in pain following the surgery that doctors ignored and blamed on 'anxiety'.

Don't know if it was Lyme-related, but my hysterectomy scar did not heal until antibiotics for Lyme...it remained swollen and red, turned into a normal white scar only after Rocephin.

Now they did find some sort of staph in my bloodstream when I begged for a blood culture (not MRSA), so it could have been that, too, which was also treated...
