Hi Everyone, Has anyone ever heard of this test. My doctor called it muscle testing. It was part of my diagnostic exam, I held vials of the bacteria to my chest and held my arm out. The doc would then try to push my arm down. Sounds crazy but It works. The co-infections that they are pretty certain I am suffering with, is exactly what I tested positive for with this test. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of it, or what it's real name is called...ive tried looking it up on the internet and couldnt find anything.

How's heaven? What Lyme doc works there? Kidding.
What you're referring to is Autonomic Response Testing (ART).

How can you muscle test yourself with supplements and meds?
I'd like to know so I can try it.

ART actually uses a middle person. It's a more sophisticated form of muscle testing.
Yes, I use that kind of muscle testing at home. I'm not very good at testing myself (you use your fingers instead of your arm to test yourself), so I have my daughter do it. You can test yourself for what supps you need, etc.

Actually... I think there is a difference between ART and muscle testing. Look up "Applied Kinesiology" or just "Kinesiology" - this is muscle testing.
I wish I could get a clear idea of what the difference is with ART. I can't seem to find an explanation on the Internet.
My son and I were going once a week for muscle testing... now we go bi-weekly. Our NP also checks us for strength with our supplements. I have been able to cut the amount of supplements we take by 1/2... and I feel confident we are getting what we need.

Six - do you mean that ART you hold on to the other person and then the muscle testing is done on the second person???
This is what my NP does with my son! He is much too sore to hold his arm out or have any resistance. I hold his hand and she tests me while holding the tests up to him. She says it's like I am the extension cord... and it works!

Mom, I think the biggest difference is the use of a middle person for ART. I don't know all the specifics, but I had ART done, and the practitioner was testing a middle person's arm rather than mine. It keeps the testing objective.
They can also test for more things, ie, allergies to a product. I tested that chlorella would work well for toxins on me, but that I was allergic to it.

Six who does all your ART testing? Local doc? Since you're from OH I was curious.

Mom, we posted at the same time. The person being tested lies down. The middle person puts his hand near the solar plexus of the person lying down. The middle person's arm gets tested.
It seems a bit more specific than muscle testing, but I don't really know all the differences. It IS muscle testing, just a specific method.

Seek, I don't have anyone local, that's why I've hardly ever had it done. I'd have it done regularly if I could find someone here. It's been over a year for me.

Thanks six - I have been wondering about this since we first discovered muscle testing... and I read so much about ART here on the boards. I knew there were similarities.
I count my blessings that we have a muscle testing practitioner within a half hour drive! She gives bulk session pricing and it is very reasonable. I have tried to test myself with the finger tests... I can't do it.

I can't do the muscle testing, but I have learned to use a pendulum. For me (and most), held in front of chest, it rocks forward/backward for yes and leftish/rightish for no. You can always ask the pendulum to show you a yes and then show you a no. It does take practice is but is so empowering.
For lyme, I take many things and it can be so helpful, so it's great to know which ones are good and which ones to stay away from.

Six and Seek, there is a chiropractor in Springboro (between Dayton and Cinci OH) that is experienced in applied kinesiology. If I remember correctly she actually taught classes on AK at a chiropractic college.
She was very kind and openminded. I saw her for awhile for help with GI symptoms before I was diagnosed with Lyme. You could call or email her with questions to see if she might help you with testing.
At the time when I saw her she had reasonable fees. Appts were not short or rushed. These things are important to me!

Thanks, Sammy!!
Right now, I have my daughter test me. Sometimes I'll test myself first just for practice. After a month of this, I'm starting to be able to test myself, but at first I was terrible at it.

Thanks everyone, I am just getting used to opening myself up to more holistic approaches. There are some strange things out there, that make no sense to me. Im more scientific minded, and very wary of alot of things. I will be curious to see if my bloodwork comes back the same as the results of the ART. I am newly diagnosed with Lyme, suffered for six years with multiple symptoms. Im praying this is my answer and I finally can get back to feeling normal again.

To think of muscle testing as scientific, think of it this way. First, as physics rather than biochemistry.
Your body has an energy (scientifically, it has a magnetic field and and electrical field). If you put a substance into your body's energy field at the solar plexus, it will either strengthen or weaken your body.
If it strengthens, it's a good product for you. If it weakens it, it's not.

Thanks six, I appreciate your explanation. I wasnt able to hold my arm up when i held the borellia, and the babeosa (sp?). Those are the two co-infections where i seem to have almost every symptom of. This is fascinating. Can't wait to see what my blood shows.

My new LLMD did this on me and I am a huge skeptic. Don't know what to think. Can't understand how this could possibly work and I hope I'm not being swindled.
I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm saying I don't understand. I finally sucked it up and paid out of pocket to go to a LLMD. I hope I don't get my heart broken as I am desperate.

It operates on the same principle like a ouija board. As long as someone is touching the vial, etc. they subconsciouly move it. If the vial was held by a thread to a stationary object, it wouldn't move. It has to be touching someone. It's like tapping into your subconscious.

I don't know anything about the practitioner that wrote the above explanation. You can find a lot of info if you google Dr. K Autonomic Response testing.

I had muscle testing done by Dr R and he claimed I was in remission after only 5 months of omnicef. He had me put my hand on a block that held slides of differnt co infections and lyme and he used on one finger to try and push my ohter arm down. He barely touched me so of course I was able to hold my arm up.
Then he put a tobacoo slide on the block and he used his whole hand and one of his hands he held onto his desk and pushed my arm with all his might!! Of course he pushed it down. Then I said you used so much more strength and he said that everyone says that???
I had ART testing done just now through DR K..totally different. They use my DNA and do it their lab against my med and supp and told me what stressors show up. They said lyme, babs and mycoplasma pneuome. They told me to increasee 2 supps, what meds and supps not to take at all and added a bunch of adreanl supps etc.
The two tests are very different. You can read up on them through dr K's website
