I started on 500mg of Levaquin on Monday for suspected Bartonella. I've looked through a lot of past topics and not really found the answers I was seeking, so I wanted to ask a few questions at once to see if I can get more definitive answers.
1) What does it feel like when you are getting tendon issues? Almost immediately I had pain in my ankles, knees, and wrists. It has been intermittent. I am considering stopping to "load up" on Magnesium and then re-start. But, it seems that some people had pain and then no tendonitis, and some had very little warning before rupturing a tendon.
2) Can you exercise on Levaquin? I've read conflicting info on this. Some say nothing at all that could strain tendons (eg not even lifting boxes). Thoughts?
3) How is it possible to tell a Bart herx from getting floxed? I am as nervous as the next person about being on this drug, but when I read the list of adverse reactions, it overlaps to such a great degree w/ symptoms and herx effects that it seems impossible to know. After a couple days, I definitely had increased anxiety and brain fog, along with insomnia, but again, those are all Lyme and/or Bart symptoms.
Nothing's ever easy, is it?!
Many thanks in advance for your help!

I found a lot of good info on this site about Levaquin by using the search button in medical questions. You will probably get at least 7 pages of post of people discussing it over the last 5 years.
I often use the search site for questions as one will be able to read so many more responses.
Just reread and noticed you said you have read past topics so perhaps you have already gone thru history. Hope someone helps you out.

I began weight lifting while on Levaquin. I had no problem.
