Is this possible?

I almost never get sick with common colds or the flu. But over the past weeks, I let my defenses get down while shoveling out from this crazy winter. Working like a maniac breaking up ice for hours at a time, sweaty, jacket open, all that smart stuff. : )

I have been hit hard by a flu- thing, but my body feels exactly like when I was in full blown Lyme treatment. My muscles and joints are screaming with pain, head to toe, in the SAME location as my Lyme-weakened areas.

Any similar stories? Any suggestions for getting through this? I have to be there for my beautiful 4 year old. Me moaning on the sofa is not terribly amusing to her, LOL. Thanks.

For me many of the Lyme symptoms were a result of inflammatory cytokines (according to my LLMD). Since the flu triggers this same response, IMO, they feel the same .... only to me, the flu doesn't feel as bad as Lyme did.

Maybe take some herbs or garlic, extra vitamin C, colloidal silver, or things like those that will help your immune system get over this and any Lyme that might be stirred up.

I had the flu last week (you'd think at 22 your kids would stop bringing home bugs .... now my 17 year old is home sick). This week, I'm still a bit sluggish, but functional, not bad considering it's Tuesday and I got sick last Thursday.

My point is, be patient with it. It's normal to get the flu and to feel achey and tired with it. But if you don't feel improvement when you should, then worry about the Lyme. I took lots of C, D and garlic with mine. Also homemade chicken soup/bone broth.

My Lyme, Bart and likely Babs was kind of dormant for at least 10 years. I din't feel great but was ok to function so never was concerned. But when I had total knee replacement surgery immune system turned away from surgery healing and suddenly developed full blown horrible debiliting Lyme & Bart symptoms. So if your body is physically stressed by the flu, if you had any Lyme in dormancy it could activate in a big way.
If your flu symptoms gon't get better in a timely manner I would check into Tick Born illness.

Thanks, that's so helpful. Sixgoofykids, I am increasing my C and Ds and garlic per your recommendation. I think the cytokines sounds like it might be it. The same areas are being triggered. Thanks. I hope your 17 year old feels better too.

Thanks, Beagle. I understand that. I actually had that happen after my c-section when I had my daughter. I had lived with undetected Lyme for years, then everything exploded. I hope your surgery worked well and I wish you well in your Lyme healing.

Thanks, mazou. I have a feeling she'll be back at school tomorrow.
