I was on abx for 2 months, but I took the abx wrong, only 1/3 as much as I was supposed to take. The second month I had a herx lasting about 8 hours on this small dose.
Now, I am 1 month into taking 4 diff abx 2 x per day (increased to 3x the dosage from before) and I have had no reaction at all.
I read about others and many say that they herx the first week or even the first day.
Anyone had this experience?

Can we have more details? Herxing can be confusing, and many think it needs to be dramatic and cyclical.

It is different for everyone. Are you having any new symptoms? Old symptoms returning? Exacerbation of current symptoms?

Do you feel any better? More energy? Less brain fog?

I didn't have my first herx until many months into treatment, and it was pretty dramatic. After that, I could time my daily headaches with my rising blood levels of antibiotics.

It would also help to know what infections you have and what abx you are taking.

I haven't experienced herxing either. I am on doxy, rifampin and flagyl. I am not up to the full dose of flagyl (on 1000mg) that I was prescribed but thought w/ that combo I'd have some dramatic herxes. I did get really spaced out he first night I took the 1000mg of flagyl but really don't feel anything else. I hope maybe I am just improving but I do question it too

No herxing for me and I am on my third month of abx.

Though my doses are low, I would think I should feel something.

I have been feeling a bit achy, with stiff neck the past two days, but that usually comes in cycles.

The brain fog has remained the same or worse.

My son just kept getting worse on abx... no herxing. We found out that HPU and heavy metals were blocking his progress.

If you are not herxing... but you are getting better... I have seen some people say that their recovery progresses nicely this way!

May health be with you!

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.

Can low dose doxy cause a constant mild herx...for as long as over two months? Or ya think if on only 200mg per day you just get worse cuz the doxy is doing nothing?

Ericap, maybe you are one of the lucky ones who don't herx but still get better?

Wow, i have never heard that someone could get better without herxing! Is that true? That would be amazing, I'll look into that on these posts maybe.
I am pulsing (3 days per week) 1000 mg Azithromycin, 1200 mg Omnicef, 200 mg Minocin, and only 2 days per month I take a total of 2000 mg Flagyl.
I have Lyme, Babs, and Bart, but so far, the Doc is just treating the Lyme. Next month he will start me on the Bart? or Babs? protocol which will include pulsing 4 tsp Mepron, 400 mg Doxycycline, 1000 mg Azithromycin, and 1600 mg Artemisinin.
My treatment is ON ABX 3 days a week for 3 weeks, then OFF 1 week. On 3, off 1.
I have no mercury fillings, although I am sure I need to detox. I do colonix when I can and drink Diatomaceous earth( not sure if that helps).
I did Herx for about 1/2 a day at the end of December....chills and fever to 100.8 But now that my Doc incresed my Abx by 3X as much, I would think I would Herx much faster??
I taker Resveratrol, Vit b, c, d3, fish oil, magnesium, and some other things also.
I will say that before I knew I had Lyme, I was treated for other things, detox, adrenal insufficiency, thyroid, and my body never seemed to respond to ANYTHING! I felt like some kind of alien : )
Anyway, thanks for your thoughts, not sure what to do, or to just give it a little longer to work. I think I had this for maybe 20 years...I am 33 years now.
Thanks so much everyone! Your're awesome.
