I was just advised by my LLMD to try phosphalipid exchange. I read about it on WWW.drmyhill.co.uk
The principle is based on Patricia Kane's iv protocol. It involves supplemental oils in the correct ratios to restore cell membranes and increase detoxification by replacing old toxic fat with healthy essential oils.
I am very interested in beginning this protocol. My brother also has lyme disease and received the iv treatment before starting antibiotics and it helped him a great deal.
Has anybody tried this? Does anybody know what name brands were used in the proportions given? I know that the ratio of oils was important and the only dosage given were based on products from the UK.
I know that all supplements are not created equally and just want to have the best chance in suceeding.
Thank you and God bless

I just started using this is a supplement to my treatment and am using organic oils.
I don't think the name brand is that important but you should probably use the most unprocessed oils that you can find.
Each drink contains 10 ml of cocunut oil, 10 ml of hemp oil and 1 ml of sunflower oil. Also include 10 ml of lecithin. You can substitute other oils but you should just check the proportions of those to use. I usually mix it with soy milk (and some other supplements I take).
I have been adding cold-pressed oils and lechtin to smoothies and eggnogs for a little over a month because of something I read about toxins hanging out in fatty organs and tissues. When you provide good fats to replace the bad, toxic fats that are holding on to these toxins, your body will naturally release them.
Looks like there are a few other sources that agree with this theory... including Dr. K. Makes me feel a lot better about our treatment plan.
Thanks for posting this thread. I had never heard of the term phosphalipid exchange so I did not know the technical term for what we were doing!

Stillwater- thank you for your post. I do not trust most things Patricia Lame says which is why I never received her treatment when my brother did. I do however think the idea of phosphslipid exchange is promising because I learned about it when I was a nutritionist and my llmd, Dr. H of ny, recommended it to me.
David- thanks so much for the information. do you also use Eskimo oil or a bile salts? I bought some almond oil and was going to make a smoothie. Is coconut oil supposed to be so thick? Do your oils have the correct 3 to 1 ratio?
Momlyme- I am glad to hear you are also trying this. Have you noticed any difference in how you feel? Toxicity is a battle I am constantly dealing with. Do you only use Lecithins?
So far I have started taking Nordic naturals omega 3 and hemp oil. I was going to add some sunflower oil but my mom bought safflower by mistake. I also have coconut oil. I am not sure if my mom bought me the right kind though so I am researching that.
I know the 3 to 1 ratio is the most important thing to rebuild damaged cell walls and release toxins. I just heard my Dr is getting a supplement called phosphadine (spelling?) Which apparently you can add to smoothie.
Thanks again! Lu

Thanks for posting this. I wanted to try it but I thought it was something I'd have to travel to a doctor for.
It's interesting to see I can do it at home! I'll have to read up on it - the pros & cons...

This thread takes you to a number of Phospholipid Exchange discussions with a lot of information.
Please note that the majority of people who have taken the Allergie Immun test are allergic to Wheat, Soy and Corn (except me). Since Phospholipid Exchange as many other products is a soy based product with some others added, the benefit may not be as expected. So if things don't work, you may want to check into this. AI corrects it easily as it does all the other dysregulations we have taken on.
I use it every day! A little bit goes a long way once you have unloaded the major toxins. I put it in my lifelong detox cocktail.
Take care.
