Wanted to see if anyone has any feedback on taking diflucan -- if there are any side effects that you'd recommend watching out for and the time of day when you take it (if it makes you racy, I'll avoid taking in the evening). Thanks!

Remember this was just my experience. I began to feel dizzy and mild vertigo by the end of week 2, week 4 wound up in the hospital with intense vertigo and I still have mild dizziness and that was just about two years ago.
I didn't think much of it at the time I was able to keep it at bay with an over the counter anti nauseant. I thought it had something to do with my Lyme but that most likely wasn't the case. "Never had vertigo beofre". I later found a large support group for women about the side effects of Diflucan, I guess it is often used for Yeast infections for women and some of them had the same problems with it...
Just my experience, I think most people are fine on it. Just watch out for dizziness/vertigo...
I hope other people will chime in and share better experiences for you, and if you do take it I hope it helps you!!!
Good Luck!!! Phytostan by allergy research, worked wonders for me in combination with VSL #3 and learning more about my diet. I didn't realize that yeast is in everything. Always ALWAYS read the labels of the food you are eating!

Because of the antibiotics for lyme I am now dealing w/ yeast. I took one diflucan yesterday and have to take another one today. (24 hours aptart--just given those 2) This coincides w/ me just starting Ceftin (also yesterday). So far I feel OK...maybe a little out of it but that may be the Ceftin and not Diflucan. I took diflucan once before a few months ago to treat a skin issue and had no problems (was not on any other drugs). Good luck.

P.S. I took it in the afternoon yesterday--it is impossible w/ being on 3 different antibiotics --two I take 2X a day the other I take 3 times a day to time everything perfectly. I think I took 2 hours after one of the antibiotics and maybe an hour and a half before the next.

When I first started taking it, I took it in the evenings, after dinner, but a couple hrs away from bedtime so it wouldn't kill the acidophillus I took at bedtime.
I believe it did contribute a bit to the dizziness I already had - BUT I was a walking sytemic yeast mess and had major sinus issues.
Taking 200mg a day for a couple mos was the best thing I ever did for myself.
It cleaned up my sinuses and my disaster of a stomach.
I did notice joint and muscle pain after a few days of taking, which cleared after a couple days.
I still take it one week at a time if I find myself feeling yeasty.

The die-off can be hard if you have a bad case of yeast.
Dizziness, joint pain, feeling out of it .. are all symptoms of candida.
Since it's an anti-fungal.. it shouldn't matter when you take it. It's only killing fungus.
--lymekuda-- I'm not saying your episodes were not a true side effect. Could have been. But... Some say Diflucan works on lyme...so it's possible that you were herxing. (I'm not sure I buy into that theory.)

Your liver needs to be checked often. Its rough on the liver. My liver enzymes went high and I had to stop it.
