I have underweight since i did some ABX.
I lose fat/muscels, especially on my hands and my legs. It scares me because i can watch myself getting skinnier and skinnier. I'm like a skeleton :-(

I read about the adrenals but i don't know how to balance them.

I read about whey protein, does that help to gain weight?

I lost extra weight since i'm on the candida diet. That sucks hard. I'm doing the diet since a year or so.

Hello energyman,

I wish I had some great advice for you, as well as myself. I, too, have watched in the mirror over the last couple years as I became thinner and thinner. It's scary as h*ll. Have you had the opportunity to try IV antibiotic therapy? I have not yet, hoping to give that a shot very soon.

I will pray for you, as for myself and everyone suffering and in fear tonight. Stay strong, science is advancing quickly!

Hello Energyman
It is good that you are asking this question, because it has impact on over-all health.

I was taught with statin meds that to supplement with co-enzyme Q10 would prevent muscle "wasting" as it is called. I don't know if hte same applies in relation to the abx FYI. So that is a bit of a stab in the dark. I would suggest you could do a subject search here, look under the term "muscle wasting" www.healthy.net

Yes protein supplements can be an aid. Protein builds muscle tissue. You are on the right track.

Spirulina was used in starvation conditions to replenish muscle tissue in organs and on the skeleton, by bodies that had been starved and could no longer digest food. Being a single-cell organism it is easily assimilated. It can aid with muscle rebuilding, but I would do this alongside protein and healthy oils, below.

The Candida diet could be causing weight loss too. To compensate for the lack of carbs, take in extra *healthy!* fats like olive oil, fish oils and coconut oil (I have read both sides of the aisle about the latter. One camp in alternative healing circles, says that recent studies have shown that coconut oil does not raise cholesterol as formerly believed. It has actually been tested in the clinical setting FYI. They explain that the saturated fats in coconut are medium chain, not long chain, which makes them more readily digested. Therefore less inclined to build up cholesterol deposits. The other camp in holistic circles still maintains that it will contribute to cholesterol. The choice is yours which advice to follow. I would tend to go with the coconut oil if it was my choice, I think it could be very helpful in this situation. It has antifungal properties too, capryllic acid from coconut is used in candida therapy). Keep in mind that cholesterol is secreted by the liver, some doctors I have talked to have said that dietary cholesterol and fats have zero to do with blood cholesterol and that it is "genetic". I would argue that, there are herbal ways to boost bile flow from the liver to aid the breakdown of cholesterol. Sour and bitter flavors, very simply.

Anyway, back to the point...
When we are lacking in carbs we will crave sugar. The fatty acids and fish oils particularly will help to combat this. And they will contribute to healthy tissue rebuilding, by strengthening the cell wall and aiding cellular respiration. Important to do alongside protein supplements.

Eat well and eat plenty if you are losing too much weight!

*Have you had your thyroid checked?* If your thyroid tends to be high, you can have unexplained weight loss (There would be additional symptoms too though. Ask your doctor about this).

For adrenal support, see here and click on the online herbal prescriber, see the ailments section: www.christopherhobbs.com you could also check here www.healthy.net

Eleuthero ginseng can be very revitalizing to adrenal glands without over-stimulating them. I would be cautious in your situation about other "hot" ginsengs, they may stimulate too much for now. B complex with vitamin C, pantothenic acid (a member of the B complex) is a specific for adrenal support. Bee royal jelly is particularly high in pantothenic acid and can be deeply supportive of the adrenal glands. Tulsi, also called Holy Basil, has a calming effect on the adrenals and helps to balance them.
I really like the product by New CHatper Organics, it used to be called Stress Take Care and I think the name was recently changed. If you google it you will find it however. Obtain herbs here for deep discount: www.iherb.com

Best wishes to you!

PS when was the last time you had a good steak?

And, have you told your doctor about this symptom since taking the abx? This is terribly important. Muscle wasting can cause other problems though of course if you take care of it, it won't. I would suggest it is really important to check in with your doctor about this.

Blessings to you and hope things improve for you soon!

I think I suggested this to your before and can't remember if you replied. Babesia can cause extreme weight loss too. What is your coinfection status?

I apologize if you have already answered this.

Mycoplasma and parasites will also cause it. Myco tough to diagnose and even tougher to treat though.

We all have parasites.

I lost about 50 lbs during treatment without trying. I treated for parasites and gained 7 lbs within 10 days, and gradually regained another 18 after that.

Energyman, have you ever had all of your hormone levels checked (thyroid, adrenal, testosterone, etc.)? While blood tests are okay to check thyroid function, from what I understand saliva testing is best for adrenal and sex hormone testing.
