I have been feeling pretty bad on a daily basis, was just put on the following:

Rifampin
Azith
Plaquinel

Have been REALLY sick since taking these Rx's, terrible headache, sore muscles etc... I know about herxing and that I can feel worse with treatment,

but my question is "can someone feel good/normal while taking these drugs?"

How will I know if the meds are helping if they make me sick??

I had to take a break from the drugs today, will tomorrow too if I feel any better tonight or in the morning...

Thanks for any help... [Smile]

Can you feel well while on the meds? A few lucky ones do, but they are in the minority.

You will eventually begin to have good days. A few here and there and then maybe a week... etc...

Hang in there! [Cool]

I feel pretty normal now. Only chasing some mild remaining symptoms. From what I have read and learned from people who have beaten disseminated lyme, you tend to feel bad when starting new meds. Over time, as they work, you feel better and better. Once you start feeling "good" it is usually time to switch up meds, and then you feel bad again as the new beds kick the hornet's nest so to speak.

So...I'm feeling nearly to 100% today (very thankful) but will be switching my drugs to go after Bartonella in 1 weeks time..so I know I'm going to feel like crap afterwards.

--------------------
Bite date ?
2/10 symptoms began
5/10 dx'd, after 3 months numerous test and doctors

IgM Igenex +/CDC +
+ 23/25, 30, 31, 34, 41, 83/93

Currently on:

Currently at around 95% +/- most days.

I think a normal, healthy person would feel "well" while on those meds.

Someone with Lyme et al would not - as described above.

I have been off abx for 2 years - but did take zith for a sinus infection. No herxing - I just felt better and better!

Rifampin, for me, would be another story - I am genetically not able to detox it, so am never going to feel well on that one. But that's another story.

Hope this combo works for you - it's a good one!

You just never know. At the point when I was on the most meds, I was feeling the best. I think I was on Mepron, Zith, Omnicef, and Levaquin at one point.

Everyone has their unique tolerance and allergic response to meds though.

Thanks LOS... I have felt normal on some meds way back when,

but that was before they thought I had lyme(they actually thought I had H Pylora) the meds did make me feel great after a few days... only to return to feeling bad again after the meds ran out...

Haven't been able to feel better since, even with the same meds...

I feel worse on the meds and wonder the same thing. I hope for all of us we are okay one day.

Me too Renny...

I know what it is to feel normal after being on those meds for two weeks so I know it's possible..

Just can't figure out why they don't work now and seems like nothing does...

We'll get there....
