Am taking rifampin/doxy/zith for bart...although not sure if it's bart or babs I have.
Can I add in artimisin with these 2 abx? Does art have to be taken with mepron?
My symptoms are fatigue, weird muscle weakness/ache in thighs and arms and major nausea, occasional foot pain, feeling fluish in the morning and feeling very hot (no sweats) during the night. Just started with racing heart and feeling like I have to breathe really hard when this happens.
My LLMD can't figure out what to treat-bart or babs, I'm suppose to help figure it out!

I don't see why you couldn't add it in.
My left thigh used to hurt all the way to the bone. Planter fascitis pain is bart, other foot pain (like something is stepping on your foot) I think is Babs.

Hello Friend I dont' know if this applies to you, but if yes (doctor has to diagnose) then let me say that I had the same symptoms followed by racy heart/breathlessness for no apparent reason...due to chlamydia pneumonia die-off. You can read about it here and follow links for more detailed information: www.cpnhelp.org
What helped me quite literally overnight (doc said it wouldn't work so fast if it was genuine heart disease, only for c pneumonia dieoff):
Coenzyme Q10 60 mg daily Magnesium (as glycinate, by Metagenics) 400 mg daily LLMD said it is very important to do selenium, B 12 for hemoglobin buildup, activated charcoal, L-carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid and a few other things to protect hte heart and rebuild the hemoglobin that is being destroyed by the bug. (I am making an assumption that chlorella would help too, being similar to hemoglobin molecularly, but the LLMD did not say anything about this so it's off the top of my head, as disclaimer).
I hope this helps you! Best wishes with this. FYI it would be important to test for this first, but to the best of my knowledge (know my herbs better in this regard than nutrients supplements) these supplements above won't interact with mainstream drugs. Except favorably in the case of Co Q 10, this nutrient is depleted by Lipitor and other cholesterol-lowering drugs. MAKE SURE you check with your doc or pharmacist that these won't interact, you'd be surprised because most of the time they don't, but in some cases a few things can. (I trained in herbalism and have worked in the integrative health setting so know something about this, but don't know it all either. Check with your doc or pharmacist).
Best wishes with this! :-) And a rapid healing and recovery to you!

PS to double up the artemesinin with the mainstream abx, caution: Die-off may be fast. Aretmesinin is pretty strong. Given my own sensitive constitution, I would be inclined to do either/or not both/and, but to hear from others who have done both would be interesting to look out for. I always advise people not to double up herbs/nutrients and meds that duplicate functions, to avoid the possibility of being "put over the top". That's just my cautionary suggestion. Check with your doc, s/he' s the ultimate authority source for you.

For me, all the symptoms you mention except foot pain have been from Babesiosis. I have had extreme muscle pain from it in the past.
I don't believe you have to take Artemisinin with Mepron, but I only took it when I was taking Mepron.

That combo will definitely kill the lyme. Like chiquita said, you do need to be careful about overkill. It could land you on your bu**.
My leg hurt from the babs drug herx. Threw my hormones way off. First month on babs drugs was miserable. Zith/Mepron. Added Art in month 2 or 3.
How long have you been on the combo? I always thought Art is added down the road once the Zith and mepron have been accustomed to.

I am seeing a well respected LLMD. Igenex was equivocal for babs-as well as bart.
