I've been on doxycycline for 7 weeks now & Cefuroxime for 4. Started with bad brain fog, nearly non-functional many days. I've been improving since about the 2nd week on the abx. Started Nystatin also now 4 weeks to treat for yeast.

The last 3 days I have felt like a zombie again.
Out of it, blurred vision, poor short term memory.
----2 questions----
Can this be expected if the abx are doing there job or is it a sign of the bug getting the upper hand?
Can yeast have this effect?

I have not been as religious about taking the Nystatin as I am with the abx because the drugs make me feel like @#&?%#$! Not news to anyone here. I took it and about an hour later was much more functional. Maybe a coincidence.

I couldn't handle doxy,

Mino didn't seem to do that much for me.

I like my super high doses of amox!

I take tons of probiotics. 6x60 billion.

I usually feel crappy! I never really know if I am herxing or not.

I have gotten a lot better over the last 18 months but it is really slow going, and the pain is still torture (but somehow not as bad!)

hang in there, the treatment is worth it!

I am not a doctor. I have no clue.

Keep up with the Nystatin. Yeast can be as hard to get rid of as Lyme & Co.

You will herx from Lyme every 3-5 wks... so you could be in that cycle.

hope you feel better soon!!

--ps.. a relapse is doubtful as long as you are taking abx

Thanks.
The 3 to 5 weeks fits with what I am experiencing.
