I started low dose naltrexone on Monday and have been having trouble sleeping since (not an issue before). I realize this can happen, as it can take a week or two for your body to adjust, but I am also feeling HORRIBLE. I have had an unrelenting headache is getting worse and worse with no signs of relief to come. Also, my already "always awful" symptoms have been as bad as they were on the very worst of worst days. For example, I have not had severe eye pain in over a month, and yesterday, I got a stabbing pain in my left eye and it has not left since. I am on 2 mg. I am very petite - 4'11'' and only 90 lbs. so I am wondering if maybe this is too much? I stopped my abx a few days ago bc I have been having loose stools and my llmd would like me to get tested for c-diff before resuming. I have not taken any abx since Saturday. LDN or issues bc I stopped abx?? I have stopped abx b/c of false c-diff scares and I have not seen such a dramatic change in just a few days, so I am inclined to believe it may be the LDN, but who knows. Any feedback would be appreciated.

LDN boosts the immune system, so any increase in symptoms is likely from your body fighting the infection.
LDN when used for drug abuse is at doses over ten times the dose you are using, so I doubt it is any kind of side effect from the drug itself.
It sounds as if it is doing what it is supposed to do. Unfortunatly, the die off effects are not going to be very pleasant.

Insomnia at the beginning is a common complaint and it will subside.
Regarding your dosage level, I am up to 4.5mg but my doctor who uses something like a tensor to check my medications to see if the dose is right for me, found the 4.5 to be too strong. Next week I will continue with 3.0
LDN has made a huge positive difference for me.

We are virtually the same size, in height and weight. I started on 3mg of LDN a year ago, and it was just too much. I couldn't sleep, and just felt rotten. It wasn't clearing out of my body quickly enough.
So, I bought some empty geletan capsules and made up 1mg doses. That dose worked much better for me. I'm still only on 2mg.
But what someone suggested to me a while ago is to give myself a break from them, then start up again. Made me feel much better. I now take them during the week, and take weekends off.
We don't all metabolise things the same. Some things I don't metabolise at all, like Rifampin.
I understand what it's like to be tiny and continually overmedicated.

I am on 3mg of LDN as part of my Lyme protocol. I have only noticed the occasional insomnia and vivid dreams. Oh, and I have been sick with a 'regular' illness twice in as many months. Though it sucks, I am taking it as a good sign as I am hoping it means my immune system is starting to work...
Not sure how it is for someone tiny, though I do know it is used in kids...maybe check out whta a pedi dose would be? I am 5'7" and 140lbs so I can't relate on a wt. level but perhaps drop down to 1mg and see? I think they even start people on .5mg so...worth asking about.
